About Tatum
I am a Physics tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Nanophysics, passionate about making advanced physics concepts accessible and practical. My teaching focuses on connecting theoretical physics with computational methods and modern data analysis techniques. Physics today is not only about equations on paper. It is also about modeling systems and interpreting data using computational tools.
I help students learn how to apply numerical methods and programming to real physics problems. Python is one of the main tools I introduce during tutoring sessions. Students learn how to simulate physical systems, analyze experimental datasets, and build clear scientific visualizations. Practical projects are an essential part of my teaching style. These projects help students see how physics concepts translate into real computational work.
I regularly work with university students and researchers who want to strengthen their computational physics skills. Many of them are preparing for research projects or advanced coursework. My goal is to develop both conceptual understanding and technical ability. By the end, students gain the confidence to tackle complex physics problems using modern tools and computational thinking.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students build strong physics fundamentals while preparing them for AP Physics exams and other advanced tests. We start with clear explanations of core topics such as mechanics, energy, waves, electricity and magnetism, and modern physics. Understanding the concept always comes first. Once the idea is clear, solving problems becomes easier.
I guide students through step-by-step problem-solving methods. Mathematics plays an important role in physics. Algebra, trigonometry, and basic calculus are included whenever needed.
Practice is a major part of my methodology. I use targeted drills, topic-based exercises, and full practice tests to strengthen accuracy and speed. Students learn how to approach challenging questions with confidence.
We also focus on exam strategy and time management. Past AP questions are used to understand patterns and common traps. The goal is to prepare students for high scores and strong confidence on exam day.
