About Evan
I'm a former IB student with a degree in neurocognitive psychology. I've been teaching and tutoring various levels of high school and college biology since 2012, from remedial students through Advanced Placement students and International Baccalaureate candidates. I've also assisted with students studying for the SAT II Biology subject test, and helped students in college who were struggling.

I generally prefer an interactive approach where I try and give my students the ability to synthesize answers on their own. I find it much more gratifying to give students the tools they need to draw their own conclusions and solve their own problems- as such, my instruction tends to focus more on fundamental principles of the science and less on rote memorization (though there's no way getting around having to memorize the steps of a metabolic cycle. Sorry, kids!)

if you need to cancel, I would prefer at least 24 hours notice. And for specific, higher-level (i.e., college or college-prep) subsections of biology, my fee increases to $20 an hour.
