About the lesson
To make this brief, my name is Jasmine and I am a strong believer in academia!
I am from London and originally Vietnam. I attended James Allen's Girls' School in East Dulwich, studied Art, History of Art, Geography, Maths and Critical Thinking at A Level (A*, A, A, B, B).
I applied for Cambridge and got into Trinity College, the most prestigious college at Cambridge University. Studied Architecture at The University of Nottingham and graduated last year.
I am currently teaching other children of a similar age (7-13) whether it be for catching up at school, to preparing for examinations, thus believe my skill set is well suited for your child/children.
Previously, I have attended James Allen's Girls' School, passed examinations for multiple other schools such as Emmanuel, Putney High, Wimbledon High, Alleyn's, so this has laid the foundation of knowledge of teaching. At A level, I received an A for maths and went on to receiving firsts at university for mechanics which demonstrates my ability and understanding of not only Mathematics as a discipline, but also Mathematics in regards to achieving results.
Furthermore, as I am at an age that is relatable to your child - 22, I feel that in my experience, my tutees have been more willing to be themselves, thus have developed more self confidence in their abilities. I believe a teacher that is supportive, is so fundamental for the flourishing of a student's skills.

11+ School Exam Preparation
I am currently teaching a few students now who are preparing for their 11+ examinations. In Vietnam, I have taught for 2 years English as a foreign language to students from 11-18 years old. My students have gone on to get into the schools that they wanted, land the jobs and do their best work. It is not uncommon for someone who is at a B grade to go up even to an A* with my teaching, but of course, this is for the most dedicated students who are willing to put in the work.
My approach is rigorous and supportive. Depending on how lenient you want my tutoring style to be, it is up to you! I am keen on getting the results that you want for your child.
I believe it is important to connect with a student, understand them, empathise and teach some emotional resilience - key in achieving the grades you want. My knowledge in mindfulness is an advantage, as I have learnt tools that has been proven scientifically to increase focus, productivity, deeper awareness, calm and reduced stress. This is how you can reach a flow state, where it is enjoyable to be challenged in what you are learning, as well as being able to become more internally motivated.
