About Matthew
Forest STEM Tutoring is a personalized tutoring service geared toward the goals of the student. A detailed plan is made to tailor to the individual needs of the student. A generic version of the plan can be described as:
The first step in the learning process is figuring out where the student is in the course material, what they are having trouble with, and what the students goals are.
The second step is coming up with a short and long term plan for the specific class or material.
The last step is clearly explaining the material and mastery of the material shown by the student.
My Qualifications:
I have a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
I have experience tutoring students from my Universities Engineering Tutoring Center.
I love teaching science and Math to students. The real progress shows when the student advances to the point where they have a mastery level of understanding for the course material. Helping students make connections to what they learned in class and knowing they are fully prepared to succeed is what the learning process is all about.
I started tutoring students from my Universities Engineering Tutoring Center. I originally started teaching because helping others learn the material helped me master the material as well. I learned just as much from teaching others as they did from me.
I have a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I have experienced every class in the STEM field from Elementary Mathematics and Science all the way up to College level Calculus III and Physics III.
I have experience tutoring students from my Universities Engineering Tutoring Center.

We do an initial assessment to determine what learning style is most effective for the student and where the student is with the course material. We then start at the point in the course material determined by the assessment and clearly explain the material making sure the student is understanding the entire time.
I have worked with mostly High School and College level students.
Make sure the teacher is willing to be patient and will make sure you meet your goals. This is done with a positive learning environment, personalized learning plans, and a teacher that can explain things in ways that suits every type of learner.
