About Andrea
I have 6 years of tutoring/teaching experience in math and science. I have a bachelor's and a master's degree in biology. During undergrad, I also minored in math and stats.
I love helping people understand material that might be intimidating. I meet students where they are in their understanding and build from it.
I started tutoring when I was a freshmen in college. I've always loved helping people learn, especially materials that can seem intimidating like math and science.
I was a math tutor for 4 years in college and a Teaching Assistant both years of graduate school.

I usually go over what a student's goals are: raising a grade, studying for a final, completing a project, etc. Then I ask students what they understand about a concept and build from that. I meet students where they are while working toward their goals. Everyone has to learn something for the first time at some point! Whether it's me, another tutor, a website, or a YouTube video, I find and recommend other resources that may further a student's understanding.
Most of the time I work with college students, but I've worked with students from every K-12 grade too.
