We were looking for a tutor for our son in math over the summer. He had fallen behind in 6th grade math and was tasked with finishing a monster packet in order to ensure that he could go directly into 7th grade math in the fall. Evan was great from the start. He broke things down, used props and visuals to help explain concepts and was extremely patient. He even re-explained something to me that I had forgotten, so that I could go over the packet and make sure my son was doing it correctly. He was able to finish the packet by the deadline and I am confident that he is prepared for the coming school year. And it's comforting to know that we'll have Evan's help when school starts, to make sure that he doesn't fall behind again.

Evan really saved the day for me. I was very nervous to have to retake my Cbest Math test. Apparently I had learned my elementary math incorrectly and have been dependent upon a calculator. I had really bad experiences in math and developed a mental block. I has failed my first Cbest math and felt so lost due to all of my misteachings. In a short amount of time Evan retaught me everything from the beginning. I needed a 41 to pass and I scored a 61!!! I couldn't believe it. I have never felt confident in math and Evan was so patient with me, he really built my confidence and simplified everything for me. I was under a tremendous amount of pressure as passing this test was the only way to continue my graduate program. Evan is awesome! Very patient and laid back. I am not a quick learner when it comes to math and Evan always takes his time explaining things and has no problem going over the same problem as man times he needs to, to make sure I understand the material. My son needed help in Geometry. He loves football and to stay with the team he had to pass his test. We needed a tutor and needed it now. I hired a tutor and I am sure she was good but it was not the right match for my son. She made it sound like there was no hope for my son and to turn him around it was going to take a long long time. My son refused to work with her and said he did not care for another tutor. After going back and forth with my son I convinced him to give another tutor a shot and if it did not work then we will come up with another plan. He came in and right away spoke to my son about football. Right there I saw my son’s interest rising and was ready to listen what Evan had to say. He went right into the subject and started working with him. He also knew how to work with my son to make Geometry not look like a task. He helped my son stay focused, even though the visits were more than an hour (at my request), and my son described him as a combination of funny but serious.
