About Kaira
Hello! My name is Kaira Robertson. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University (2020) with a double major in Film and Neuroscience. I was a two sport athlete all throughout highschool (Harvard-Westlake 2012-2016), and played on the Wesleyan Varsity Volleyball Team all four years of college. I have been awarded the All-Acedemic Team Honors for achieving 3.75 of higher every year of College and was honored with the female Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2019.
I've been tutoring elementary through middle school children in Math, English, and History since I was in highschoool. I appreciate that every learner learns in their own unique way. Moreover, that learning style is developes and evolves over time.
When taking on any learner, I make sure to understand how he or she best learns, and adjust my teachings accordingly. I understand the importance and nuance of both explanation and active participation when tackling any subject.
I love my students. Growing up as a two-sport athlete, I relied on my teachers greatly, especially those who were able to devote extra time to helping me make up what I had to miss for tournements. Without them, and their dedication and care, I would not be the person I am now.
Moreover, in this day and age, it can be so difficult to balance everything on hand, especially as so much more is demanded of young scholars to achieve excellence. Throughout my own journey, I have relied on mentors and teachers to help lighten my load, and I sympathize greatly with student's demands. I hope to help others the way I have been helped.
