About Bryan
I think I have the ability to quickly build a relationship with students that helps me create lesssons that tie into their interests. For example, I had a student that was very much into baseball and the Dogers. We were able to look at season statistics calculating Mean, Median and Mode. It made it more interesting for the student, and helped them more easily learn the content. I put this same effort into all of my students!
I enjoy getting to know my students and I see it as a challenge to help turn their frustrations with a subject into confidence and ease... I like a good challenge.
I completed my undergraduate training in education. I wanted to pursue a career where I could help others. I do a lot of volunteer work locally working with students, and internationally volunteering with educational programs. I graduated with a degree in education with Math and English majors.
I am a certified 5th - 12th grade Math and English teacher. I have taught Math at the Middle School level and have taught all grade levels online.

I enjoy meeting with students face to face to listen and find out which areas they may need support in. However, most of the work I do is online. Everyone learns differently, so the approach I take is really dependent on what each student needs.
I have worked with diverse populations of students. I have worked internationally in Latin American communities, I have worked within Michigan middle schools, and have taught online. The students I have worked with have ranged from those who have math anxiety and/or struggle in school to those who excel but want an extra boost.
Find someone who you are comfortable with and who matches your personality. As a teacher, I adapt to the students' needs, but the worst scenario would be dealing with personality issues when you should be focused on learning what you need to learn!
I love when I see students gain confidence and succeed in their classes. Recently I worked with a student who was consistently getting D- grades in their math class. After a month of tutoring, he turned his grade to and A and I was consistently getting proud texts from his parents that he aced another test or quiz!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Which subject do I need support in? Are there certain areas within that subject that I struggle with? How do I best learn - am I visual, hands-on, auditory, etc? How often do I need tutoring? What goals do I have for learning the material (ie. pass a class, test prep, etc.)?
