About Victoria
Hello! I'm Victoria, a certified teacher and PhD candidate in Roman History at York University. I hold an M.A. in History and have taught at both the secondary and university levels.
My interest in the ancient world began during my undergraduate studies and eventually led me to specialize in Roman history, language, and culture. Alongside my academic research, I have spent years working with students of different ages and abilities, helping them develop confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking.
I enjoy making ancient languages and texts accessible to modern students and believe that learning Latin can be both intellectually challenging and genuinely rewarding. Whether you're studying for a course, preparing for an exam, or exploring the ancient world out of curiosity, I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

I offer individualized Latin tutoring for middle school, high school, and university students. Lessons are tailored to each student's goals and may focus on grammar, syntax, translation, reading comprehension, exam preparation, or specific authors and texts.
Whether you're working through the Cambridge Latin Course (or other textbook), preparing for AP Latin, or reading authors such as Caesar, Cicero, Ovid, or Vergil, we will develop strategies for approaching Latin with greater confidence and independence.
As a certified teacher and PhD candidate in Roman History, I believe students learn best when they encounter texts that are both intellectually engaging and appropriate to their level. I am committed to helping students find readings that spark their interest while steadily building the linguistic skills necessary for long-term success.
