About David
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Physics at Rice University and have tutored for 5 years in Houston. I’ve co-authored publications on condensed matter research and serve as a teaching assistant for graduate-level courses. I hold a Texas ESL certification, which helps me adapt lessons to diverse learners, and I’m available for weekday and weekend sessions. Outside tutoring, I volunteer as a STEM mentor at local outreach programs, inspiring underrepresented youth to pursue science.

I bring physics to life by connecting core concepts with real-world phenomena. My lessons in thermodynamics explore heat, energy transfer, entropy, and the laws of thermodynamic systems through vivid examples and intuitive explanations. Whether it's understanding how engines work or why entropy increases, I guide students step by step with clear visuals, real-life applications, and engaging discussions. I also include weekly “Physics in the News” segments to highlight exciting breakthroughs and show how thermodynamics shapes the world around us.
