Federica - Chislehurst - Music

Methodology

Young, committed and enthusiastic person, I love teaching as every lesson is a new experience and new challenge. The key in learning is to enjoy and I always make sure that my students leave the lesson happy for a new achievement.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

Harp (pedal and level)
Music Theory
Chamber music with harp
Italian (all level grammar, literature, conversation)
Italian Coach for singers

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a BA (Hons) and MA in Philosophy, a BMUS, a PGDip and MMus in Harp.

- How much do you charge?

My fee is £35 per hour.

Discounts for group lessons ( harp, italian, coaching and chamber music)

- Where do you teach?

I'm happy to welcome my students to my studio. The closest train stations to my house are New Eltham and Elmstead Woods or Chislehurst.

- When are you available?

I am very flexible in my teaching hours, from morning till early evening.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I can teach anyone, from beginners to advanced, from 5 till 90! I only ask parents to be around for young children (either for the first few lessons or as long as they like to).

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

GCSE Italian, A Level Italian
Trinity College London (Harp)

- Do you have a personal message for students?

Italian is a very rich and musical language, the sound of it recalls of sunny days, warm beaches and ancient monuments. So why not learn it?

The harp is a charming and wonderful instrument, it sounds beautiful from the very first lesson and it is not hard to find a convenient hiring arrangement. Neighbours would be pleased to hear you or your child practicing, as it is not loud and very soothing, both for players and listeners.

Background

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have extensive experience doing workshops to introduce children and teenagers to classical music and instruments. I have been teaching children and adults both in harp and italian with excellent exams' results .

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes

- Where and with whom did you train?

I studied harp both in Italy and UK. Firstly in my home town at the Conservatiore, then in Rome at the well known Santa Cecilia Academy, and in UK I spent three years doing a master in performance at Trinity College of Music, in London.
Regarding my Philosophy degrees, I did spend six years at Cagliari's University and gained first class honour for both the BA and MA.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

ISM

- Tell me about some of your current students.

One of my most excellent italian student has prepared her A level italian exam with me, mostly studying literature (we did the whole Dante's Divina Commedia, without any english translation whatsoever) and she got a place at Oxford University.
