As a previous student in a public secondary school, I saw so many peers with limiting beliefs of their mathematical abilities. There is shame associated with getting the answer wrong which hinders confidence and willingness to ask questions, sometimes that can come from teachers too. Let me tell you, it is possible to go from the lowest grades to the highest without grueling work. You don't need natural talent. And you don't need to study for hours a day. I've been there and done that, I have the student's perspective and I've come out the other side. You can too, and you can still not hate your school life in the process.
