About Don
The goal is always to improve your writing, or your knowledge of literature, or techniques of poetry or fiction or non-fiction. I feel I work best when I can go through work with a student in detail, something that seems very do-able online. I try to use models and examples to mirror good work; it doesn't help to know never to split an infinitive if you don't know what that means, but it's easy to show you.

I've taught Intro to Composition and Intro to Literature (and Intro to Film!) to literally hundreds of students. I wrote and edited a weekly newspaper, everything from the editorial to city hall to the Pet of the Week. I have 30 hours in creative writing from the U of A and have published a poetry magazine (six issues) and four chapbooks of my own work. I love writing and I love teaching.
