Understanding a math lesson is all about having the foundational knowledge first before trying to understand the given concept. Throughout my years of teaching and tutoring, I have learned how to breakdown major concepts into smaller pieces so students can better understand the material. If the given concept is too challenging, then we will go back to what is understood and work up from there.
