About Katrina
My name is Katrina and my approach to tutoring is for every student to have a fun, caring, engaging, enthusiastic, and important leader! In 2016, I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing along with publishing my debut novel, Away With Words! For over 12 years, I have encouraged and mentored hundreds of students in discovering their voices on the page and stage. From proudly producing 10 published anthologies with these hundreds of students, I continue to ignite my own passions for the art and craft of creative writing. I use nontraditional parallels from other media, literature, and subjects to showcase that our inspiration for a story, poem, or even a character can come from the unlikeliest of places! My strawberry blonde hair is as fiery as my passion for teaching kids. Paired with my overflowing happiness and loyalty never wavering. Instead, my passion for showing others my love of creative writing only continues to grow with each moment and session we have together!

Through writing and mixed media exercises, students will explore their own voices, tones, worlds, characters, and genres! Brainstorming and stream of consciousness are going to be the first elements of our journey together! Students will be encouraged and motivated to share any idea no matter how seemingly small or ridiculous. We have to let our innermost ideas believe they also have a voice! I will work with you to go from the tiny seed of an idea into the full-blown garden! Along the way, I will provide invaluable, motivating, and constructive feedback through every stage of the process! All ages are welcome to join in these classes to discover and maybe even rediscover a love for your own imagination! May you find your next loudest and biggest fan you didn't know you needed!

Whether you are a beginner writer or a multi-published author, Katrina is perfect for everyone of any level.
