About Livia
my interest in STEM started since I was 13 and I had to decide what GCSE subjects I need to do. I couldn’t pick one in my normal school! I discovered a new school that takes in students only in year 10 to 12. Academy of design and engineering where I did triple science, double maths, and 4 subjects of engineering. Our lessons were not 45-1hr long but instead we had 2-hour lessons and finished school at 17:30 some days. I understand school, revision, and most importantly maths and STEM subjects. I have passed construction company exams, quantity surveying exams in my senior life and I work with maths on a daily basis ever since the age of 14. I am young and can easily switch the language of how to present ideas to Teens which makes it less tedious to listen to as with senior professors. For AS Levels I did further maths, maths, physics and engineering. For university I did commercial project management with quantity surveying modules. In my free time I enjoy exploring AI, programming, software development, electronics. I can solder, show circuit schematics for BTEC level students, explain all information regarding property, built environment, building, construction. I can play chess highly well - which can be an additional tutoring idea.

First we need to identify the problem area by running a mock test, I will see their thought process because my unique approach is to understand how they think. Then, we tackle healthy habits, fear, stress management as well as the problem area itself. Common issues with teens: “I cannot do one question so I can’t do all”, in reality they can do 50% of all questions they are just afraid of getting it wrong or starting wrong. Another common issue is incorrect style of revision for their personality type. Some children love to listen, some love imagination others need to read and copy what they wrote to take in information. The style of approach will be identified in the first session to come up with an individual approach for the child. We also need to understand that learning does not have to be stressful and hair ripping, my approach is positive reinforcement, motivating words and explanation of the bigger picture - that progress is a continuous line and not done overnight. This way, the stress of not understanding something will be at the very back, with the full focus on learning and engaging. There will be homework, there will be a progress calendar and there will be internal tests and quizzes.
