About James
I am an experienced tutor who has fostered strong results in 11+, GCSE, A-Level, and Undergraduate students.
My background has meant I earned expertise in multiple subjects, as I recently completed an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths College. Previously, my BSc was gained in Geography at the University of Nottingham, where I specialised in urban studies.
I now work as a freelance tutor, researcher and writer.

My approach will be multi-faceted, in a manner that brings out the best potential of all my students. I first discuss and diagnose their goals, strengths and weaknesses, before tailoring lessons to meet those needs. Every student is different so I put the work in to understand them.
I like to build my students' confidence and make them achieve things they thought they couldn't - to do this, it requires stretching their abilities whilst supporting them. If a student does not understand something, it is important they feel comfortable to discuss - I am friendly enough that students usually do!
