About Waleed

With an active 3 years’ experience and having recently completed my university postgraduate degree, I provide an established range of mathematics and statistics tuition; including extensively teaching from 8+ all the way through GCSE and up to and including university level.

Qualifications include:

• A Bachelor’s degree (BSc Hons) in Mathematics and
• An additional Masters (MSc) in Medical Statistics, at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (I received a full scholarship from the National Institute for Health Research to do this)

A significant chunk of my students have all achieved excellent results. The quality of service provided reflects this with parents requiring such teaching standards for their children.

Tutoring is a lifestyle that I’m vigorously immersed in and something I greatly enjoy - this is reflected in the effort, organisation and analysis I put into each of my lessons.

For a glimpse of my performance, the following testimonials have been provided:

1. Julia, mother.

"Waleed tutored my daughter for her Maths AS and was very helpful explaining things in the simplest terms, particularly differentiation and integration, and she passed her C1 with an A. He was also punctual and reliable."

2. Jack, student.

"The lessons I received were vital to me passing. I had tried to pass this module a few times now and had failed at those attempts. The lessons helped me build up my maths ability going through each section of the module and breaking it down to make it simpler because I've always found stats hard. One-to-one helps a lot because it means you can go at your own pace and anything you don't understand can be re-done till it's perfect, and this helped me pass and get an overall pass grade of over 60% which was a big improvement on my previous results in stats."

3. Lizzie, student.

"Waleed was an excellent tutor who tutored me in Additional Maths for around 7 months. I started off struggling with many of my topics, having not been able to fully understand them during lessons in school, and was at a stage where I was not sure whether I would be able to take the Additional Maths exam. However, with Waleed’s careful and thorough help, I achieved an A in my Additional Maths exam, with a mark that was well above the highest grade boundary (there is no A* grade). I would recommend Waleed to everyone as he is very effective at tackling specific topics in detail to ensure that there is complete comprehension - he is also very friendly and good to work with. "

I currently work as a statistician in the Civil Service. I provide tutoring to students of all levels including GCSE (new syllabus), A levels, and undergraduate/postgraduate courses. I provide a very flexible structure depending on the students requirements. I understand that some students may just be having problems with a few specific areas or example questions and need help running through these while others may wish to go through the whole syllabus in a more structured format. I am very happy to accommodate either and believe it would be effective to discuss these requirements before each lesson so that the student can get the most out of the time provided. I take a friendly and open approach to tutoring with the hope that students are comfortable to ask any questions they want until they fully understand the subject.
