About Skylar
I Graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor's in Biology with a focus in Ecology and Wildlife. I am passionate about animal care and rehabilitation, having spent much time doing wildlife rehabilitation work as well as domestic animal rescue and rehabilitation here in North Carolina. My educational background consists of Biology, Ecology, Marine Biology, Botany, Zoology, Anatomy and Physiology as well and animal behavioral research. I love learning new things, and look forward to sharing new ideas!

The way I approach teaching is to start with basic building blocks and slowly build up from there. Every concept, no matter how large or intricate can be broken down to its base ideas and then explored. The study of science can especially be daunting which is why I believe focusing on foundations and vocabulary first can help strengthen further study and understanding.
Discussions and questions are a large part of my lessons as I feel that being able to speak about concepts abstractly helps us understand them in a three dimensional way. Learning is not just being able to find the answer, but being able to explain your thought process that lead you to it is equally important.
I will help you understand concepts and guide you to the correct answer while answering any questions you may have along the way. I look forward to learning with you!
