About Sarah
I received a Ph.D. in Plant biology and physiology from UC Davis. During that time I also taught intro to biology, a required class for all students attending the university. I taught this course for 4 years. Prior to that I taught human anatomy, organic chemistry, and microbiology. I have years of experience in teaching biological sciences, but I also care about the pace at which each individual student learns.
I would make extra time for students that were struggling but clearly had a desire to learn and do better. I have training in multiple teaching styles and learning styles and try to apply the best approach to each individual student. I try my best to accommodate different approaches to learning.

I utilize an interactive approach to teaching, often preferring a back and forth of questions and in depth thinking. I will use many of my own custom questions and teaching plans, based on the topic and source material, to get complex ideas across.
A typical lesson plan would include reviewing the most recent lecture/class material, and highlighting key concepts, before moving into a more interactive question and answer type setup.
I can cover biology based topics ranging from middle school through college level.
