About Phoebe
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Ecology, bringing interdisciplinary insights to every session. My approach centers on building genuine understanding rather than memorization—I connect concepts to real-world examples and adapt explanations to each student's learning style. Sessions typically run 60 minutes, allowing time to explore topics thoroughly while maintaining focus. I use visual aids, interactive discussions, and practice problems to reinforce learning. Whether you're struggling with biological systems, psychological theories, environmental science, statistics, or research methods, I break down complex ideas into manageable steps. I'm ideal for high school and early undergraduate students seeking support in biology, psychology, ecology, or general science courses. My recent academic experience means I remember what it's like to learn this material firsthand, and I'm enthusiastic about helping others discover the fascinating connections between mind, behavior, and the natural world.

I'm Phoebe, a 25-year-old science graduate passionate about making complex concepts accessible and engaging. I completed my Bachelor of Science at the University of Otago in 2024, majoring in both Ecology and Psychology, with coursework including educational psychology, cognitive development, biology, and environmental science. My academic journey took me from Ōtepoti/Dunedin to the University of British Columbia on exchange. I graduated in May 2025, earning A grades in courses like Social Psychology, Evolutionary Processes in Plants, Field Botany, Biological Oceanography, Ecology of Communities and Ecosystems, and Ecological Adaptations. I've conducted hands-on ecological research, including fieldwork investigating bryophyte communities in the Catlins, species identification technology analysis, and laboratory work on marine ecosystems. Beyond academics, I've gained valuable experience working with young people through regular childcare, where I create supportive learning environments that encourage curiosity and confidence. My conservation fieldwork with Project De-Vine and leadership roles in the Otago University Tramping Club have strengthened my ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and adapt my communication style to different learners.
