I am a graduate student in Music but graduated from Lake Forest College with a Math and Music degree. I gave lessons for 2 years and have had lots of success with students. I worked with many students from kindergarten up until high school, with immediate success

I have two things I focus on while tutoring: understanding and bonding. I want to first create a friendship with my student first so that it is easier to help them completely understand the material. When I look at the material, I start with asking the student what they are confused about. Once we are going through some problems or a lecture, I use encouragement to help reinforce the ideas that they will already know. I have found most students are unconfident and instilling them with confidence has helped them excel.
