About Pratishtha
I am a yoga asana teacher based in Boston, United States, originally from a small village near Delhi, India. My yoga journey began long before I even realized it—rooted in an innate desire for equity and a meaningful life lived with dignity. This quest led me to question gender norms and challenge the status quo in all my life decisions. I earned my post-graduation in Development Studies from one of India’s most reputed liberal arts colleges—a milestone in two ways: I was one of the only few women from my village to pursue a postgraduate degree, and I chose an unconventional path, one that was neither engineering nor medicine. My deep desire to foster meaningful human connections drew me to work as a community gender equity trainer in my early twenties. Since then, I have worked with disenfranchised and marginalized communities, collaborating with organizations such as the United Nations, the World Bank, and the governments of India and Rwanda to lead community-driven training projects. This work laid the foundation for what I do today as a yoga teacher. It shaped my ability to connect with people beyond their physical bodies—especially girls and women—supporting them to find aspirations beyond the limitations imposed by gender identity. My interest in connecting to the inner self has always been central to my path. Observing my own thoughts, behaviors, and emotions helped me keep open the window of self-awareness, something I see essential for teaching yoga. I firmly believe that Yoga cannot remain at the periphery of our lives; it must be at the center, guiding every decision we make. My physical asana practice began in my late twenties with Hatha Yoga. Later, I was introduced to Vinyasa Ashtanga Yoga through my 500-hour YTT under the expertise of some fantastic American teachers in Boston. Alongside, my Indian teachers continue to guide me in understanding the philosophical, subtle and cultural context of yoga, enabling me to share my learnings with authenticity and depth with my students. I teach a diverse community—offering gentle yoga for seniors and individuals with limited mobility, as well as more challenging all-levels Vinyasa flows. My aim is to meet students where they are physically, while guiding them beyond the health of their bodies to observe and connect with their subtler being. In this space of awareness, they can feel empowered to inquire, challenge, and ultimately release experiences and thoughts that no longer serve their truth. I look forward to sharing my practice with you!

I understand how confusing, fragmented and decontextualized yoga information can seem to be, often leading to frustration and a quest for meaningful understanding. I am committed to teach with cultural awareness, context and depth—sharing not just the physical practice but also its rich philosophical and cultural roots.
When practicing with me, you can expect an alignment based physical asana practice-which will help you to witness your experience through physical sensations, thoughts, and emotions.

I attend Pratishtha’s yoga class regularly and is always grateful that she guides the class with a very sounding yoga concept of relaxation and inner energy enhancement. She often gives very clear instructions of each steps for body postures and movement, in a good pace, which effectively helps to stretch my body to get rid of any pain that I often have. She is the best yoga teacher that I ever have.
Pratishtha is a truly talented yoga instructor. She has a lovely speaking voice, and somehow seems to anticipate what you are feeling/doing around each pose in an uncanny way. I also appreciate her support for those who may be new and/or less adept at some of the poses (like me!) She incorporates modifications very naturally in her instructions, so you never feel “called out” if you aren’t able to do a pose fully. She is both knowledgeable and passionate about yoga, and that wisdom comes through in a very authentic way. Highly recommend her!
Pratishtha is a wonderful yoga instructor, creating a welcoming and calm atmosphere.
She is clear in her instruction, offering individual attention and modifications as needed.
She explains the deeper meaning of our energy flow. She is also very kind and fun!
Pratishtha is a gifted yoga teacher. I've taken classes with her in-person and online, but regardless of format, she is welcoming, compassionate of all bodies, and funny at times. I especially enjoy that she opens class with 3 ohms and a mantra, something many other teachers skip. She offers clear pose instructions, often with modifications, and encourages students do to what is good for them. I look forward to her classes, and have brought friends and family with me to participate.
I met Pratishta through my personal training coach. My first impression was she is just a beautiful person, both inside & out.
I very much like the style with which she teaches. It’s non-competitive each person goes at their own pace, but her coaching helps to perform the pose correctly.
She also has helped my community with classes and they have been wanting more sessions.
I recently hurt my back, but when I’m ready to go back I would be honored to join her class.
Pratishtha is a highly respected professional. Her expertise in yoga teaching is valued by our group. I feel very fortunate to have such an excellent instructor. After every class I feel very good. I like her method, her approach and her style.
