Strala is a way of being, moving and healing, that helps people connect with how they feel, move how it feels good, and handle challenges with ease. This is yoga that moves far beyond poses, helping you blow past your goals and get into your dreams. It’s a freedom flow that expands your limits and cracks you wide open. You reveal your radiantly inspiring self.
My teaching method is extremely casual. I teach yoga as a form of therapy and self grounding rather than an intense exercise. I teach the importance of breath and understanding your body and not pushing it too far.
I base my teaching on giving the student what they want with a friendly and relaxed approach so that they can really enjoy this time learning with me. I believe in a steady but well paced and organised way of learning which can be adapted to individual needs.
My usual teaching style is Vinyasa (flow yoga), Hatha (slow strengthening yoga) and Restorative (mind focused relaxation). I'm so happy to be able to offer you Restorative yoga in a safe supportive environment so that you can completely relax in each pose on comfy props and practice the art of conscious relaxation. I believe that yoga is so much more than the physical postures (asana).
I begin every class with a brief meditation to cultivate a sense of calm, before moving into the warm up, sun salutations, then asana sequence, ending with a guided meditation and optional head/face massage to aid with deeper relaxation. I also offer a sound healing with singing bowl section at the end of the class to allow for deeper tranquillity and peace.
As a qualified yoga instructor of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga, I strive to create inclusive classes for everyone to feel comfortable in their practice, learn essential postures, slow down and turn their attention inward. My teaching method focuses on connecting deeply with ourselves through the movement and flow of yoga. I like to make my classes active and have elements of fitness entwined within the practice, but with an importance of a guided meditation and realignment at the closing of the practice.
