About Julia
I am a studious individual with a strong interest in the biological processes behind human movement. I recently graduated with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Guelph and have a passion for biomechanics. I bring experience and dedication to the table as I get ready to start a Master's program in biomechanics at the University of Guelph this fall, an endeavour I am very excited to embark on. Throughout the completion of my undergraduate degree, I assisted in multiple research projects in a biomechanics lab working alongside many professors, PhD students and master students. As a tutor, I place a high value on engaging and interactive teaching strategies that are customized to the needs and learning preferences of each student. I think it is important to provide a welcoming and encouraging environment where students may ask questions and take an active role in their education. To improve learning and recall of concepts, I use a combination of visual aids and real-world examples in my teaching methods. I make an effort to simplify difficult subjects so that everyone may understand them.
A standard lesson plan begins with a quick recap of the subject matter to ensure that students comprehend the topic before moving on to specific details. In order to reinforce what has been learned and gauge comprehension, I will go over practice tasks or assignments.
I have thorough knowledge of human anatomy and movement, along with a passion for teaching. I contribute my academic knowledge and practical experience to students who are interested in learning more about human kinematics, biomechanics, and anatomy. My sessions would be customized to fit each student's particular academic objectives and aspirations, whether they are focused on exam preparation, improving research techniques, or investigating particular areas of interest.
