My lessons are very simple, there is a structural starter to get the brain warmed up in the topic we will be covering. Then a very clear and concise explanation, with a problem solving task. If the pupil does not solve the problem I will then do an example of the skill behind the topic. Then we will go on and assess if the skill needs working on or if we can practise the topic. Usually the starter will indicate where to pitch the lesson. After some consolidation we will either stretch the knowledge to A-Level or go back and practise.

2006 - 2012 - Store Manager - Cambridge Drive News
As a chid my I watched my parents own and run connivence stores, my brother, sister and I were bought up serving customers and dealing with money. When I turned 16 my parents trusted me to become a manage of one of the stores, which I had worked in from when I was 10 years old stacking shelves. I was in charge for the cashing up, stock rotation, staff timetables, ordering stock, customer service, opening times of the store and budgeting.
2013 - 2014 - Management and Acquisitions Intern - Santander London
After I finished my masters degree at Birmingham University I worked for Santander London in the Management and Acquisitions team, I was part of team that bought and sold London City Airport. I arranged client dinners and meetings. I created a portfolio of clients which I over saw with regards to their data. I did not feel like finance was the place for myself, I wanted to do good, and help people, this is why I did not pursue my career within finance, however learnt so much from my experience.
2015 - 2017 - International private tutor - Bonas Macfarlane and self employed
Whilst training to be a teacher at University I started tutoring children from 11+ all the way to A Levels. I have a 100% A-Level target met and GCSE record. I applied to work at Bonas Macfarlane an international tutoring agency. From this I created a a network of clients, who started recommending me internally. Once I had made a name for myself, I found myself tutoring during school holidays and weekends in St Tropez, Paris, Monaco, USA, UAE, Dominican Republic, Ibiza, Madrid to name a few. I have a 100% 11+ pass record, for schools such as Harrow, St Pauls boys and Girls, Eton, Yarm, Thomas's of Kensington.
2015 - 2016- Head of Mathematics - Portland Place School (London)
After I finished my qualification (PGCE Mathematics) I was head hunted by Portland Place School to lead their Mathematics Department. I taught from KS3 to KS5. I also taught the year 6 pupils that were high achievers. With my management experience from growing up, and my tutoring portfolio, I relished within this role. I was part of the recruitment programme, I raised standards within the Mathematics Department, I wrote policies and standardised all testing and schemes of work. I created after school clubs and was head of the teaching and learning team within school.
2016 - 2017 Teacher of Mathematics Macmillan Academy
Whilst moving to a new area, did not want to settle down in a school unless I was fully comfortable with the career progression Unfortunately macmillan Academy promised me a leadership role within the year I was there, however they did not have any leadership roles within the school, therefore I had to look for another school that I could find a leadership position in. Whilst at Macmillan Academy I taught outstanding lessons, was a form tutor, held after school clubs and organised the prom committee for year 11. Taught KS3-KS5 including Stats and C3.
2017 - Sept 2019 - Deputy Head of Mathematics and Head of Mathematics - Dene Community School
After living in London for four years when I met my partner he was placed in Newcastle - upon - Tyne for his Orthodontic speciality training. I decided to move with him, and started as Head of Department at Dene Community School. This school is one of the most deprived in the whole UK, it has 80% free school meals and some of the lowest GCSE results in the country. This was a very different school to Portland Place School a lovely Independent school in Central London. At first I thought I would struggle with the change, however I loved every part of it, I raised standards within the Mathematics department by 60%, GCSE results went up by 54% overall in the whole school. I created a happy working environment for my team in Maths, I wrote whole school policies, delivered CPD, taught outstanding lessons, managed a team of 28 over three different subjects, presented reviews in front of the governors, presented in front of parents, children and the local community. I was also elected to become Durham Councils Maths advisor for the whole county.
2018 - Current - Founder - Jasmine Exchange
Whilst living in the north and working very hard at school, I felt I could push myself further. I always wanted to work for myself, and started thinking of ideas, once I realised what a demand there was for the British Asian market I created the Jasmine Exchange. The Jasmine Exchange is my real passion project which I am now working on full time.
Hobbies and Interests
Charity work - once every three years I visit Sierra Leone with my old school mates to help the local community. We went to Sierra Leone when we were doing out A-Levels, and since working have started going again.
