About Karen
Hello.
My name is Karen.I’m from Taiwan.
I graduated from National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism.
My major is Food & Beverage Management.
So I also can teach about how to make food.
I have been Parenting class teacher for two years, taught children from 7 to 9 years old.
Teaching content: Traditional Chinese(mandarin), Chinese(mandarin) listening, speaking, reading and writing, basic mathematics.
I am fluent in Chinese(mandarin), both spoken and written. My language proficiency allows me to effectively communicate and connect with people from various cultural backgrounds, fostering meaningful connections and promoting cross-cultural understanding.
Moreover, I have reached the basic ability in Korean through my dedicated efforts and successfully obtained the TOPIK I certification. This has enabled me to confidently engage in conversations, and navigate daily life in South Korea with ease.
Combining my love for cooking, fluency in Chinese(mandarin), and knowledge of Korean, I am excited to bring a unique perspective and contribute effectively in a multicultural setting.

I conduct practice sessions with students through video calls. For example, I divide the Chinese(mandarin) language lessons into categories like everyday life, history, culture, etc. I use lively presentation styles to make learning enjoyable and easy for students.
The most effective sessions are 1-1.5 hours long (cooking a dish takes around 1-3 hours).
I have a seven-year background in culinary education. I have two years of experience teaching children aged 7-9, covering Mandarin Chinese (including Taiwanese phonetic symbols) and mathematics.
Anyone who is interested in cooking and languages but hasn't learned them before. Suitable for individuals who may have opportunities to travel or live in Mandarin-speaking regions.
