About Iqra
I’m a History graduate from the University of Oxford, where I studied at St Hilda’s College and specialised in Modern European history. I’ve always loved working with students and helping them grow in confidence and clarity, particularly in essay-based subjects like History, English Literature, and Sociology. As a tutor, I aim to make complex ideas accessible and engaging, helping students build strong arguments, refine their writing, and think critically. Whether it’s supporting GCSE students with exam technique or preparing sixth-formers for Oxbridge interviews, I bring structure, enthusiasm, and tailored support to every session. I’m especially passionate about working with students from underrepresented backgrounds, helping them access top universities and realise their potential. Subjects offered: History, English Literature, Sociology, Personal Statement & Oxbridge Admissions Prep.

I have experience working with students aged 11–18 in both academic and pastoral roles. As a Teaching Assistant at the Greenwich Madina Trust, I supported students of mixed ability in English Language and Literature, helping them develop core skills in reading, analysis, and writing. I created custom resource packs, tracked student progress via spreadsheets, and provided targeted feedback to help improve exam performance. I also have extensive mentoring experience. As part of an Oxbridge access programme, I coached sixth-form students through personal statements, mock interviews, and subject preparation. My work helped several students successfully apply to Russell Group universities, including Oxbridge. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to adapt lessons to different learning styles, boost student confidence, and create a supportive, focused environment.
