About Meera
With a PhD in Electrical Engineering and four years of teaching experience, I’m passionate about making complex electrical concepts accessible and relevant. I believe that understanding the fundamentals of circuits and electronics is crucial for anyone pursuing a career in engineering or technology. My teaching approach focuses on hands-on learning, guiding students through experiments and projects that apply theoretical concepts to real-world challenges. In the electrical engineering course, we begin by covering the basics of circuits—Ohm's law, Kirchhoff’s laws, and the behavior of resistors, capacitors, and inductors. Students learn to analyze and design simple circuits, both analog and digital, to understand how electronic devices function.
As the course progresses, we explore more complex topics such as electronics, signal processing, and power systems. Students learn about semiconductor devices like transistors and diodes, amplifiers, and oscillators. We also dive into the study of alternating current (AC) circuits, the behavior of signals, and the fundamentals of communication systems.
The course includes practical labs where students can apply theoretical knowledge to build and test circuits. We also explore real-world applications of electrical engineering, such as renewable energy systems, control systems, and modern electronics. By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in both the theory and practice of electrical engineering.
