About Karen
I have a teaching certification and Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I taught Health and Physical Education, and French in international schools for 15 years. For the past eight years I have had my own practice as an Integrated Holistic Health Practitioner helping clients heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

I recognize that each individual is unique and brings to every situation their particular life experiences. As a teacher I am sensitive to the personal needs of my students and recognize that every individual navigates their environment, learns and interacts with others in uniquely different ways.
I feel that the experience offered to students should be as authentic and relevant to the real world as possible. As a teacher, I integrate disciplines where appropriate and provide differentiated learning opportunities. I also enjoy catering to my students’ learning styles.
Assessments are in the frame of learning for understanding and students are given the opportunity to peer-coach and self-assess.
