Hello, I'm Dora, a passionate English student who loves helping young learners become confident readers and writers. I believe strong literacy skills are built through patience, practice and understanding - not simply memorising rules. My lessons are designed for KS2-KS3 students who want to strengthen their reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation in a supportive and engaging environment.
I take time to understand each student's individual strengths and difficulties before building lessons around them. We can work on everything from spelling and sentence structure to reading comprehension, vocabulary, punctuation and developing clearer, more confident writing. I break concepts down into manageable steps, encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes without judgement, and adapt my teaching as they progress.
My aim is not just to correct mistakes, but to help students understand why something is correct so they can eventually recognise and correct their own errors independently. I want every student to leave a lesson feeling that English is something they can improve at, rather than something they are simply "bad" at.
Please note that I am not a qualified SEN specialist and therefore cannot provide specialist tutoring or interventions for children with additional educational needs requiring a qualified professional.
