I am able to give lessons to those studying to a GCSE level and below. I like to make teaching fun and interactive, as I feel it engages the student more than simply reading from a textbook and making notes. In terms of lesson structure, I would need an overview of the module and categorise it, dividing each into an individual lesson.
Biology is a subject for which exams traditionally require large amounts of content to be synthesised, with students regularly expected to draw upon knowledge from across the syllabus and apply it to problems not always explicitly taught.
I am passionate about Biology so I have a variety of creative methods to suit all learning types. I like to supplement my own learning by follow up exam questions as I feel this a perfect way to cement knowledge.
I am currently studying Midwifery at the University of York which covers a lot of in depth biology. I did a biology a level and find it is a subject that different people tackle in different ways! I like to think of creative and fun ways to reach to various methods of learning.
My approach to teaching is building confidence and improving exam technique as these are often the two biggest set backs for students. I am very good at communicating and explaining things and I am well practiced with school students from my previous tutoring experience and from having a younger sister.
I try to find out the ways the student learns best in and approach my teaching tomaccomodate his/her learning. I like to give tips from my past experience.
I am happy to teach Biology to students up to A-level. Understanding the complexities of biology can be really difficult at times, and I aim to provide a supportive environment for students to grow in confidence with topics they struggle with.
My basic method: I explain the background, you work on the subject by yourself, and we finally see together how to improve what you have accomplished.
My teaching method is clear, uncomplicated and student lead. I will go at a pace which allows the student to progress and develop naturally.
I offer individual tutoring tailored to each student's specific needs, not the same old recycled lesson plan! - Which subject(s) do you teach? Across the curriculum at KS1&2, English, Maths, Science, ICT, History and Geography at KS3, English, Maths, Science, ICT and History at GCSE, and. English and History at A Level.
I'm really passionate about biology, and got A*s in my GCSEs which helped me get to University and further pursue my interest in the subject! I am really friendly, am willing to answer questions, explain concepts, and teach whatever the student wants to learn, or needs help with! My lessons will be online via google hangouts/skype.
I am able to teach all three sciences and mathematics at GCSE and all three sciences at A Level. My lessons would include powerpoints, images, videos, figures and diagrams to address the content that will be required. Small tests will also be included now and again to ensure that the student understands the content that is being provided.
I will focus on making sure the student has a sound knowledge of the specification before moving the focus of the lessons onto learning what the best way to answer questions is, how to approach essay questions and getting the student to be able to understand what the question is asking them.
Hello! My name is Madeline Baker and I am a 23 year old friendly tutor with experience of secondary tutoring for mathematics, physics and chemistry. I have a Masters degree in Earth Sciences from University College London, received A's for both maths and further maths at A Level and 13 GCSE's A*-A, including maths, english and triple science.
- Classes We provide professional English, maths and science tuition. Pupils receive 1:1 tuition, and undertake practice drills and independent work during 1hr 20min sessions. All children are given a free initial assessment. If you decide to take up the tuition sessions, an individual learning programme is designed based on the outcomes of the assessment and the needs of the child.
I've been tutoring for almost three years, and have taught young people between 11 and 18. My tutoring experience has largely been exam focused - working towards 13+ entry to senior school, GCSEs and A-Levels.
Every child is individual. The teaching needs to respect how a child reacts to authority some need to be set goals others thrive on praise.
One on one sessions, tailored based on the individual students need. Once we've established first contact, I can figure out which grading system the student is using, and tailor the content we go through to ensure it is relevant to the examing body. From there I will create a mentoring plan that ensures we cover all topics required with ample time for revision of specific topics of issue.
I have just completed an MSc in Reproduction and Development and gained a 2.1 in Biological Sciences. I am a friendly, patient person who loves working with individuals of all ages and helping them achieve their potential. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Biological Sciences at Higher Education level and Biology from early years up to A level standard.
I have no set method of teaching as I realise all pupils are unique and as such have differing needs and must be challenged in different ways. We will discuss what works best for you as an individual and using the information you provide we will create a learning environment which suits you.
