I tutor all aspects of English including School Curriculum and common Entrance prep.My students include dyslexic and EAL pupils.I plan individual sessions and aim to be fun but focused, structured and relaxed .
Relevant education. I have to meet and understand your child before finding out which approach to learning is most suited. It will be a very proactive class, with children relating what they read with their own experiences.
My overall approach to tutoring heavily relies on strong communication skills, as I believe that any student can receive top grades if they are able to understand what is needed from them and how they can achieve this. It is also important that they feel comfortable in their learning environment, and feel confident that they can reach their targets.
My sole focus is to teach the contents of the curriculum, to help give students a little extra support if they require. I can help with homework, or offer support in any area which needs improvement. Over the years, I was taught that if you do well in school then you will have the best chance to get a good job and earn a substantial amount of money. This is partially true. However, how many A's you achieve in school, does not necessarily equate to the amount of money you make in the future.
The underpinning basis for my teaching methodology is differentiation-this is particularly important when tutoring a variety of students. I carefully break lessons down into achievable parts to give students confidence, set clear criteria for success, offer examplars wherever possible and try to convey my enthusiasm for my subject.
I have experience teaching children with a range of abilities and special educational needs, as well as those who are high flyers and need to be challenged more. I tailor the style and speed of my lessons to each individual to help them get the best out of their time.
