My teaching method is short taught lessons, lots of practice activities and self-assessment, and regular formal assessments to monitor progress. Following an initial baseline assessment, I will then accordingly plan appropriate lessons and resources based upon your aims and interests.
I provide one to one tuition in Secondary English & English Literature. I have a BA Hons in English with Education Studies, a PGCE qualification in English and a Masters Degree in Education. All tutoring is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the individual to determine strengths, weaknesses and to set targets to progress.
Using easy to understand and dynamic lesson plans, I teach English to primary school age children. And prepare year 6 children for their eleven plus tests, I am friendly and I am experienced in working one to one as I work in a school as an interventions TA to help children who are struggling with English and Maths.

I am a 22 year old undergraduate at the University of Exeter, studying Ancient History and Theology. I like to teach in a style the student can follow most easily. Generally that involves explaining, showing, student trying and then going through any difficulties so my student understands. It is important that the student understands the concept and then regular practice to consolidate learning.
I have just completed my International Baccalaureate and am taking a year out before I go to university. At primary school level I am able to teach literacy, basic grammar and reading skills. At secondary school level I am able to teach English language and literature at GCSE level.
I am eager to give lessons to students who are about to take their GCSEs, but due to my educational background, I am qualified to teach English and Psychology to A level standard, as I have an English Literature with Psychology degree and an MSc in Psychology. I have read English literature all of my life both casually and for school. Its is a subject that I am very fond of and which I have consistently performed well in both at school and at university.
I hope to provide tutoring revolving around the literature you're studying at school, to give any additional help. I believe I would be of most help to GCSE students or below that level and hope to specialise in novels as opposed to poetry.
My most recent tuition is specifically of a degree level; however, at secondary school, I was a mentor for children aged 11-15 who needed help to develop their literacy skills. I am very keen to structure lessons based on what the pupil needs and primarily focus on their specific needs. I am happy to teach one-to-one, online and/or in a group.
