I give lessons to early beginners to secondary school, but mostly years 5 and 6's. With my students, I approach each task in very small chunks to start off, and always make sure they understand as well. At the end of sessions I also ask the students if they are unsure of anything else, and I take this as feedback and apply it to future sessions.
I strive for a personalised teaching style, customised to stimulate interest and intuition rather than simply memorisation by rote: Different people learn in different ways, if a student needs specific guidance then we will work together to solve the problem; If a student wants to learn as much as possible then I will take a more direct approach.
I tutored 1:1 GCSE maths and science whilst I was studying for my A levels in Exmouth. I am willing to tutor any level in most subjects. I believe I have a calm and patient approach to tutoring, as people learn in different ways which should always be acknowledged. I like to search for the best way for the student to understand a concept, otherwise it does not help them reach their potential.
I am a friendly and patient tutor who is available to teach anyone interested in mathematics. I can use my expertise as a qualified teacher to help you get the grade you want. I structure lessons based on your current knowledge and ability and build from there.
I have an infinite amount of patience and I will help you on every steps until you master the subject. I like to give examples or different type of methods that will help you easily understand and find the solution to the problems.
I offer lessons up to the BSC level 10 and can provide in person or video tutoring. To get the most out of the session, I require students to provide me with their syllabus, current lecture content (powerpoints, handouts, etc), and questions. I find it best for us both to prepare before each session and I expect my students to be willing to put in the work as well.
Practice, practise makes perfect and especially in maths this is the only way. I teach teenagers during GCSE and college.
I am currently an A-Level student. I'm happy to help all you guys who are truggling with Maths problems in GCSE and AS Level.
I'm looking to offer any help needed with homework or general studies at A-level/GCSE level education, to all ages within the Torquay area, in the Maths/Physics fields. I am happy to come to your home in the Torquay area or even tutor via webcam if preferable.

BSc (Hons) Mathematics; Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 3. - How much do you charge? I charge £10 an hour for students local to my home in Torquay or job in Exeter. I may charge travel costs by negotiation.
When you're really stuck with Maths, it sucks, isn't it? I remember how a little bit of one to one tutoring had helped me develop a logical way of tackling problems. My teaching focuses on the following: 1. Reading the question damn right 2. Visualising what it's asking 3. Going backwards 4. Consider quicker alternative methods (i.e. symmetry) 5. Understanding of the concepts 6.
Currently tutoring from key stage one through to GCSE in English. Over twenty years experience of primary teaching and SATs , plus experience of special educational needs including Asperger, Dyslexia, dyspraxia and elective mutism.
My teaching style is based on evidence: ● Evidence of your Growth: Every lesson you will have a sheet of problems solved -- proof of new abilities. ● Evidence of our Direction: Every lesson you get a copy of its plan for your learning diary -- including notes on your input.
I teach knowledge and skills application for each subject area through a mix of images and models. The more practical the session the more the children grasp the concept. I find the gaps in learning and address these, whilst also looking to deepen their understanding (greater depth) by applying their knowledge in a range of contexts.
An enthusiastic teacher with passion for my subjects, I have years of experience as a teacher and private tutor. I am familiar with many of the problems that students encounter in my subjects and have over the years, developed strategies that help overcome them, thus making the learning experience enjoyable again.
I'm an exchange student fluent in Italian and English and I'm currently Studying Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computer science at A-levels and I have all A* predicted for June 2018. I've always helped my classmates when in need and they always understood at the end of my explanation. Lessons are structured in a straightforward way.
I take a relaxed / conversational approach to the lesson. My main teaching method is to go through past exam papers with the student, to build up their confidence and teach them exam technique.
I'm currently a student at the Exeter Mathematics School looking to help Secondary School students with their Mathematics. Given the new GCSE's graded 1 to 9, the difficulty of Mathematics at the secondary school level has risen greatly and a lot of students struggle with it's memory oriented exams.
Hi! I’m Max. I have A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics; and an AS in Chemistry. I achieved ABAA respectively last year and I’m predicted A*AA* this year.
I have only had experience teaching GCSE and A Level, but would consider helping out undergraduates. As a scientist, I wholeheartedly believe in the value of teaching from first principles. You don't have to remember how to do something if you understand the concept. I also did not achieve my full potential in A Level, but I went on to achieve well at university.
I give maths and physics lessons to any level student up to A level. My lessons are personalised for you to be able to achieve you're desired grade. I can advise you on which topic would be most useful to study or you can tell me what you'd like to learn/revise in advance of the lesson.
I've always enjoyed maths - both learning about it and talking to others about it. I achieved 100% at GCSE Maths and also attained an A* at A-Level Maths. I have experience in teaching my younger brother maths, and am able to tutor up to and including A-Level.
My name is Charlie and I am a first year university student studying physics at Exeter. At A level i studied Maths, Chemistry and Physics, obtaining A, A, B respectively, with As in AS biology and extended project. I am looking for students at GCSE and A level to tutor, no job too big and all that. Lessons will be tailored to the student.
My teaching method is as hands-on as possible. I will ask them to try and solve the problem as much as they can and then explain step-by-step how to solve it showing how it differed from their attempt. With children who find it easier to visual the problem I will use 3D models and props to help teach them.
My teaching method depends on the pupil - each individual has their own way of learning so I believe it is important to identify in the first session what works best for them. In general, I am a warm and patient tutor and always hope to make the sessions as fun as possible.
I had the privilege to teach Maths to students in year 7-12 students in year 12 and 13 at my sixth form. I teach student the same material in different ways and stick to the way they like it most. I make study a fun subject specially maths so that student can remember it for longer time.
I am a fully qualified primary teacher, currently teaching in year 2. I have taught right across the primary age range, including year 6. I am patient and full of ideas to help children achieve their full potential. Learning should be fun.
I am Liza, 30 years old, originally from the Netherlands where I worked as a child psychologist (mainly with children with AD(H)D and Autism). My passion and love lies in working with children, helping them to grow and develop into confident and happy human beings.
I am a recently qualified teacher who is passionate about making learning accessible to ALL children. I have just completed my NQT year in a mixed ability year 3 and 4 class and have particularly enjoyed finding creative and enjoyable ways of teaching Maths that suit individual students' needs. Please don't hesitate to contact me for further information.
The first step is to understand where your child is mathematically. What can they do, what are they secure with. From there we need to develop an individual program that will engage your child carefully through the next steps.
