I like to use lots of examples and then let the pupils try on their own. I am very good at explaining difficult concepts and won’t move on until you understand.
I give lessons to students ranging from 11 years upwards with no upper limits. My teaching style is friendly but I do like to reinforce a topic until the student is confident in what they have learned and are fluent enough to attempt and master challenging problems analytically.
I’m offering tuition in maths to all ages, from secondary level to A level/BTEC. I’m friendly and patient and try to ensure that the topic is understood clearly. Not everyone thrives in a classroom environment, myself included - so I’ll work through the syllabus gradually at the student’s pace to ensure full understanding, reverting back where necessary.
I would use my notes supplemented with the student's own notes if they had them. Provide past paper questions in separate topics and ensure to practice exam technique aswell as explaining course content thoroughly. With sciences and maths I believe practice is key.
I like to get to know each student and design my lessons around their learning preferences. I try to make lessons interesting using a mix of notes and past paper practice.
I have more than 2 years of university level teaching experience. I hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry with six peer reviewed publications. I work towards building a fundamental understanding of the subject and can tailor the teaching style according to need of the student. This has been my experience that students understand better when complex concepts are taught with their practical application.
I am currently in U6th studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I completed my Maths A Level in 1 year and achieved an A*. I have some prior experience through one of my Prefect roles, in which I mentored a GCSE student in Mathematics last year. Explaining things at a different level, I carried him from a D to a very high B.
Currently a 3rd year PhD researcher in the field of environmental catalytic pollution control technology (de-NOx Nitric oxide gases and Methane catalytic converters for Diesel-Natural gas engines) at Belfast (QUB). I completed my GCSEs (2007) and A levels (2009) at Verulam state School in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England.
I use the unique insight gained from both my PhD in Mathematics and broad teaching experience to emphasise the intuitive nature of the subject (drawing parallels between topics) and to simplify problem-solving processes.
Throughout my time at university, I came to understand that I retained the subject matter more efficiently when my lecturers took in to consideration the needs of their students. They encouraged my classmates and me to ask questions. This is how we learn. I would like my students to do the same. Ask as many questions as you like.

I am passionate about my subject. The style of lesson is that I do notes first, practise with some examples, then let the student try some examples. I will use past paper questions. The lesson is 30 minutes long.
I aim to rebuild a student's confidence in their chosen STEM subject with one-on-one tuition tailored to their specific educational needs. During my tutoring sessions, I will often be filling in background information on a topic that a student may have missed, offering different explanations for key concepts, and encouraging repeated practice of a subject.
Every learner is an individual. I tailor my sessions to the needs and abilities of the individual student to ensure that they achieve their full potential. When taking on a new student to tutor I ensure that I understand their abilities and where their strengths and weaknesses lie and together we set realistic goals.
Hello, I am a recent Astrophysics graduate from Queens University Belfast and I want to help you with GCSE and A-level Mathematics and Physics in a relaxed and manageable way, tailored to the needs of each student. Before my degree I struggled with both subjects so I'm very familliar with how daunting maths and physics can be particularly when a deadline is approaching.
I feel the best way to teach maths is by repetition. this is because understanding the topic is the key to succeeding in it, and the best way to do this is to use the material to prepare, and practice.
I am new to tutoring but intend to base my teaching by focusing on pastpapers and provide revision exercises which help by using real life example and visual representation which may be easier to understand.
I have tutored a number of individuals in the past, with wide-ranging abilities and some with learning difficulties. As such, my approach to teaching is very much dependent upon the individual student's needs and strengths. I aim to build confidence alongside academic capability.
I give lessons to students up to A-Level in Mathematics. My techniques are simple. I address a topic and explain the main concepts of the topic. I then use these concepts to work through examples similar to that of past paper questions. I then answer any queries from the students.
My teaching method completely depends on the needs of the children and also the wants of the parents. I will assess each child and plan lessons to suit their needs. If a strategy isn't working then I will tailor my lesson to meet the individual. I like to work practically within my lessons and I provide all the resources for the lessons.
I'm a Chemical Engineering student who teaches GCSE and Foundation programme students. I customize my teaching styles to the needs of the student and work on the best possible way. I teach using my notes and appropriate online videos for concepts that need visualization. I have a diverse background in sports, academics and extra curriculars and would be more than happy to help out on those fronts.
My teaching method is especially giving lessons to the indiviual students and sometimes in groups near the exam time to give more attention to all the students and check them by taking exams in groups so that they don't feel hesitation in the final exam as they have already given exams in groups. So there would be no pressure of anything.
I like to ensure everything required is covered. And go by what the person I am working with is finding difficult, helping to find rhymes and methods to help understand the topic. I work with memory aids and past papers.
I am a 17 year old girl and currently study at St Dominic's Grammar School and have just completed my AS levels and have 10 GCSEs majority As and A*s and 1 B in religion. I have three AS levels with an A in CCEA Mathematics, C in Chemistry, and a C in Physics. Whilst studying my A-levels I improved my time management skills and can work well under pressure and with on the spot tasks.
I am currently in my third year at The University of Edinburgh, studying Mathematics. I achieved an A* at GSCE level Mathematics and Additional Mathematics (which I understand has now been renamed at that level Further Maths), an A* at A-Level for Mathematics and an A in A-Level Further Mathematics.
I understand children's language, can communicate with them easily, my explanations are understandable for them. Kid with me will never loose interest in subject. I teach children under 15. Me lessons last for 1 hours.
My teaching method is to provide proper guidances to students to make sure that that understand what that are learning
I scored an average of 90 in all of my math-related classes since I was a secondary school student. I am currently studying in Queen's University Belfast with a major of math and statistics. My lessons will be student-oriented, which means I will develop unique teaching method for every student based on their own trait.
“Don’t work on a question until you get it right. Work on it until you can’t get it wrong” I will target each topic for the student to cover and would constantly refer back to them. No student will be taught the same way. Some will be taught differently based on what they find easier to understand, so they are able to use the concepts learnt to answer past year questions.
My approach is to really help students understand mathematics, using when needed, visual diagrams and showing proofs to fully explain each step of working.
