I believe people learn best when they are relaxed and involved in their learning. Teaching from where the student is up to and using fun resources and step-by-step explained and demonstrated approaches to aid in understanding the processes involved. Lessons will be tailored to your child’s needs after an informal assessment session. Lessons can focus on school set homework tasks when required.
- Classes Kumon provide individualised Maths and English programmes. Attendance at class is on a "drop-in" basis during class times as each child works on their own individual programme. Children take approximately 20-30 minutes per subject and attend class once or twice a week. The Kumon programmes work in a logical sequential way to develop mathematics and English skills and competence.
I currently give lessons to students from Years 7 - 13 struggling with the sciences and maths. I believe that to be able to do well in a subject, you must first understand it, and so I like to make sure that my students have a good grasp of concepts within the subject, before moving onto questions.
My teaching method is to tutor with the help of my own recent experience of GCSE exams. I understand the new specification and content in depth, the added pressure put on students and some of the best methods for effective revision.
I prefer online tution. We will discuss the syllabus materials and then move on to sample practice questions when you are confident with the lesson.
My teaching method is to work with the student based on where they are in the curriculum. If there is something that is understood, I would be more than happy to move on to the next topic. helping with GCSE revision and reinforcing what is being taught at school is also top of my list.
I take a pupil centric approach. I am an expert in Mathematics and as such can adapt my explanations to suit the needs of the student and enable them to obtain maximal understanding. I also reinforce lessons through exercise sheets to consolidate the students knowledge as well as identify issues in their understanding which can then be addressed the following week.
During any session I will identify the problems the student currently has and find relevant questions (past paper or otherwise) to help explain, and eventually, overcome the problem. I primarily will use questions and past papers but am open to any techniques the student believes may be helpful.
- Classes Every student has a programme that is built just for them. They concentrate on getting to grips with topics that they are covering in school whilst also working on a parallel thread that is put together to fill any gaps that may exist in their core skills. * The MagiKats programme supports the National Curriculum. * More than tutor 'hot-housing' and more than learning by rote.
It is my aim to turn all students into the best students that they can be by continually pushing them and challenging them. Everyone wants to be able to achieve a top grade and with my teaching experience I am able to explain maths to you in a very simple way and I can also offer guidance on exam technique.
My teaching revolves mainly around the student. I believe everyone should and can be able to do Maths to a good standard and look for ways in which is beneficial to the student depending on their learning technique such as interactive, images, text and videos.
As a tutor, I work with students to bring the best out of them. This means teaching at a pace that they feel comfortable with, building their confidence in one subject before moving on and always bringing in new and exciting challenges. Where possible I like to explain concepts with real life applications, so the student understands the usefulness of the subject.

Hi. I am currently working as a mechanic but I finished highschool 3 years ago with an A in GCSE maths. I am just looking to help others succeed in maths and I could use a bit of extra money. I can help younger students. I am experienced in doing this as I grew up with younger siblings.
For me, the most important aspect of teaching is sparking an interest in the subject- I find that students are much more motivated when they understand how a subject can be applied in impressive ways. I also believe it is vital to understand concepts, rather than just remembering them.
My style of teaching is very much individual to the student - I am able to provide a very structured approach or simply help with this week's homework. I can give lessons to KS3 and GCSE in Maths, English, Sciences (Triple and Double Award), History and some French. I can also help with AS and A2 Maths, History and Biology.
So, I teach students that are at secondary school level. I have a set methodology of first giving a lesson structure and giving set ways of doing something. I then reach these set methods through examples and expect questions to be answered using these techniques.
Everyone is different, and sometimes the way things are taught in class can be very confusing. My goal is to provide fun, informative study sessions with students by focussing on their problem areas and attempting to re-frame topics into something that makes more sense.
I’m a big believer of concrete and real life application before abstract methods in all areas of Maths. I’ve also done a lot of work with developing breadth activities in line with the new curriculum. For early reading, I teach phonics first and fast but then use real books to promote reading.
I've taken all levels, from 10 year old boy to university preparation. Each pupil is a different challenge, so the methodology must be adapted accordingly, which is the huge advantage of teaching one on one. Lots of homework of course.
I'm a student from India doing my MSc. Structural Engineering at the University of Manchester. I'm happy to offer lessons to high schools and civil engineering students. I'm offering lessons related particular queries that students ask me. Lessons may be last for 1 day to 1 week. I can offer home service and library learning.
My teaching approach varies based on each students. Firstly I identify what the weaknesses and gaps are by doing a proven diagnostic assessment based on a particular unit of maths. After marking it and identifying gaps, I teach according to the weaknesses identified until the students has fully understood.
I use a mixture of paper and computer based technologies in my approach as I find the contrast is more motivational. I begin by identifying key gaps in knowledge and then develop a program to address the individual needs of the student.
I have guided my students in schools and in private tutoring lessons into success over a sustained number of years. Helping students to achieve grades beyond their expectations over years of tutoring in mathematics. Experience and good teaching strategies are the key to achieve my goals in making students successful.
I work in an Accountancy practice in Manchester. I base my lesson structures in a way which can benefit students gain a good understanding in the subject areas which needs attention. I start off with students explaining about the difficulties they have in a particular subject area and I then plan different teaching methods accordingly.
I'm a 4th year undergraduate Physics student at the University of Manchester. I'm also a creative person, I play piano, produce music and DJ. My teaching method revolves heavily around problem solving- if a new topic is being covered I'd use a variety of sources and media to get across the key principles, followed by some example worked problems.
My teaching method focuses on explaining to students anything they don't understand through different examples and methods. As someone who has asked help from teachers before I understand how important it is to focus on basic understanding rather then a rote learning method.
I'll approach each student's topic/problem as carefully as I would my own, making sure I fully understand both the question and the student's issue before giving any advice. I'll ensure my help is as clear and useful as possible, regularly checking the pupil is happy with where we are at.
My teaching method is determined partly by the nature of the learner. On one to one sessions, I engage with the learner to figure out topics they find challenging and need help with. I ensure students are comfortable and by starting with simpler questions on topics, I build up learner's confidence.
