I teach by approaching he areas you will most need help in and will cover whatever the person I a, tutoring feels they struggle with most and intend to ensure they understand the topic well enough to do as best as possible.
I am a professional Maths tutor with a degree in Engineering from Cambridge. Previously, I worked with Maths throughout my career (research physics, financial analyst in industry and the City of London). I enjoy helping people to succeed in Maths.
Back in school, maths was my favourite subject because of the satisfaction obtained when a problem is solved successfully. I like to break things down in a logical manner so students can see that complicated problems can be solved easily with several standard steps or formulae.
With experience as a classroom teaching assistant and private tutor, I work mainly with secondary school students helping them with GCSEs and A level exam prep. I can provide Worksheets and example questions if needed, and will work through these with the students helping them develop a deeper understanding of the mathematical principles and applying them to different styles of questions.
I am a college student studying AS biology, chemistry and PE, as well as A2 mathematics with statistics. I have 10 A* grades at GCSE, in a range of subjects, including English, french, German, physics, maths, biology, and chemistry.
I am able to produce lesson materials and have a wide range of mathematical skills to answer any questions posed
I am studying Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey. I have a great passion for maths, having achieved A Level Mathematics at A*. My lessons are centred entirely around the pupils personal areas of weakness so they can really excel.
My name is Tara, currently in upper sixth and giving lessons to secondary and primary school students. I teach through explanation with various methods and then practice including fun exercises to consolidate knowledge to improve results in child’s exams and homework.
I am currently a 3rd year Chemical Engineering masters student at University of Surrey. I intend to give online lessons to increase reliability. I can help with content and also will help you with your study schedule and technique- will be most beneficial to GCSE and A-Level students, but open to helping undergraduate engineers too.
I am a final year Biomedical Science student providing lessons to students from secondary to A-level/BTEC levels. I have been tutoring for the past year in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and English. I am a friendly, hardworking tutor who believes that everyone has the potential to succeed. Through questions, homework, past papers, videos and hands-on approach, I help my tutees to excel.
@Teaching Experience: I've been trusted to mentor younger students who are struggling in particular sbjects, and have been recommended to other teachers and students too. I hope I can help more students to gain better grades. I have tutored GCSE/A level science and maths for a few years and really enjoyed teaching and finding methods that work for the student.
Through my time studying maths I have found the use of exam style questions and those form past papers to be the most effective method for myself, and is one I strongly believe in. I will structure the lessons around topics requested by the student, sourcing exam questions around this, whilst supplementing it with textbook content and broader knowledge.
One to one sessions, focused improving your problem solving skills so you can apply the knowledge that you learnt in class. I will set exercises targeted towards the specific skills and techniques that you need to develop to answer questions.
My method of teaching is breaking down complex scientific terminology into more basic concepts which can be understood. I have realised that it can be difficult to decode the scientific language in textbooks and that certain processes can be confusing. I have experience in interpreting scientific language to make it more understandable to others.
My aim when tutoring children: I believed children need self confidence and a strong foundation of knowledge in order to be able to access their lessons in school. Lessons will be tailored to the students needs and we will move as quickly, or slowly, as needed in order to secure both their knowledge and confidence.
During the time when I was studying A-level Mathematics there were some areas where I seem to struggle more than others. I believe that by going through the students module and completing the syllabus early so that there is time work on areas where the student struggle and also to perfect methods that they already know by repetition of questions.
1) Understand what you are struggling with, find you weakness. 2) Explain the fundamtals of each topic needed. 3) Walk through some examples. 4) Test what you have absorbed.
My teaching method is to start from the basics and cover any deficiencies they might have. I am approaching each topic by giving every day example for the kids to demystify mathematics and realise that there is nothing deficult about them.
During my 5 years of Aerospace Engineering, i depended highly on text books because i think they give a lot of more details and well written, thus they give more insight on the subject at hand, so i think i will follow the same methodology in teaching
I currently study in MSc Entrepreneurship in University of Surrey. Just ask me if you don’t understand anythings in your class.
I like to introduce topics with how they are related and how they interact with previous knowledge. Providing plenty of context and examples, to what each problem represents and how I would go about solving the problem personally. Step by step guidance to problems with worked examples, all while putting emphasis on the purpose behind each step in the process.
I try to approach each new topic by giving simple and easy to understand explanations of the general subject, and elaborate on this through varying exercises to ensure a full understanding. I also want to make sure that the student knows why they’re learning the topic other than just to pass the exam, so real-life situations are given to help aid knowledge.
My lessons are quite compact and a lot it taught within a short space of time whilst ensuring the student has grasped all concepts, typically lasting 1-2 hours.
I go through each individual problem with the student, adapting my methods and approaches depending on the student's response. I will use every approach available to me to help my students understand the material they are working on. Then, after covering any materials for class, I often bring in my own worksheets for us to practice on.
I like to introduce topics and problems by explaining why we need an answer in the first place. Why is this equation important? Why do we need to use it? Why does it look the way it looks? I work from the belief that if a student has an understanding of why we need these solutions they will be more motivated to discover where such solutions come from and how to derive their own.
