I don’t have one set approach because it varies depending on the student and their learning style; after all, not everyone learns in the same way! However, for every student I believe it is important to ensure they actually understand the concepts and wider topics associated with their subjects as opposed to just memorising facts so that they can apply their knowledge to different situations and
I find learning is best with guided practise before setting off on more complicated questions, such as like learning to ride a bike I first show you and breakdown the key methods step by step, then slowly piece together the concept and idea before completeing the full question. There is no time pressure with me and lessons can be very chilled and patient.
Got great grades in both Business and Physics at Level. I'd teach 1:1 ideally. I structure based on how the student feels they would learn best. Passionate about both subjects and I enjoy telling students how to do the subject. My best time of tuition is randomly weekdays and Sundays. My times during week can vary due to varying timetables of University.
I am currently a uni student who has achieved successful good grades throughout school and so I would like to share my techniques to those who need a little extra help. I am quite flexible in how the sessions will run, however I find that sessions work best when students bring up topics or specific questions that they find difficult so that I can focus on making them more confident in it.
I am huge science and maths enthusiast with a strong academic background. I have been tutoring physics and mathematics for several years and am about to embark on a degree in physics with nuclear astrophysics. I very much like to take an intuitive approach to tutoring through the clear explanation of relationships and derivations.
I give lessons to children struggling with their GCSE grades and Homework. My lessons try to teach by targeting flaws in methods, attitude to learning and areas of which they may lack knowledge for the subject. My methodology is where I make the learner think on their own and help them along by connecting thought processes and making them solve on their own accord.
After an initial assessment, I work out a plan for each student to attain an objective and tailor each lesson to meet this goal. I use past papers for examinations to refine technique and loan books from my own library for interested students to explore more.
I will be giving lessons to primary and secondary school students, including those at gcse level and will be giving them fun and engaging lessons in order to allow students to broaden their knowledge in both maths as well as physics
For my lessons, I will often explain a method or topic, then question the student on what was just learnt, and then repeat certain areas that the student struggled with. I will supply sheets for students to complete in and out of tutoring sessions which will shall help them keep focused and ready for the next topic.
As I am still a student, I really understand the way the students learn and what they find difficult to grasp. Maths is a subject that is really tough but using my tips and tricks even the worst of my classmates have come to understand the most difficult of GCSE subjects, like matrices.
I am currently studying A-level mathematics and I would like to pass my knowledge down to younger students as I know the tips and tricks needed in exams (mainly GCSEs ). I would prefer if students bring me tasks and questions which they find difficult and I can work through them to show them how it is done then after test their knowledge by asking similar questions on the same topic.
I like to pin point what my students are struggling with first to help with this as it will be a building block to harder parts of mathematics. Then once they have grasped that I will practice exam questions with them at their level which is most helpful with grades.
Looking to give lessons to students in year 11 who need help with their GCSE maths/physics coming up to exams.
I enjoy making lessons relaxed, laid back, fun and as educational as possible. I have taught a range of ages of children from 5 to 18 years, and am capable of adjusting teaching methods to suit all individuals.
I am student at local grammar school currently studying A level maths. My GCSE results included 5A* and 5 A's. I have experience tutoring for GCSE revision and lower level maths. I enjoy helping and tutoring others, developing their confidence in maths.
I believe that every student has the potential to achieve what they set their mind to. My methods are simple and allow the students to be independent as well as getting support in areas they struggle with. It keeps them engaged and motivated. My lesson involve practice, practice and more guided practice.
Teach by an interactive method Visual aids Practice Questions Questions from student Ask what the student is struggling at Help them using whiteboard, apps etc.
I rigorusly break down harder topics since the new GCSE requires more understanding than it ever has done before. I pride myself on explanation of harder topics and prefer to show how something is done - testing previously learnt knowledge as the lesson progresses.
I like to contextualise each topic and relate it to real world problems allowing students to associate and visualise it to current situations
On line, teaching in classroom or going to students home.
It depends on the student if the student likes books I work from books if the students like whiteboard and notes i work on that.
At the moment I am studying for my A levels in Maths, History, Biology and Chemistry. I love teaching and do GCSE mentoring at my school twice a week for Biology and Maths. I also recently helped my sister pass her 11+ by tutoring her for maths and verbal reasoning.
I love teaching individually but I am comfortable teaching small groups as well. I am confident and creative when it comes to giving examples from real life, helping students understand on a practical level the theoretical grounds of geometry both 2D and 3D.
