My teaching is based on the school curriculum and the student’s areas for improvements.
I am a science graduate with many years' experience of teaching maths to the often terrified at all levels up to GCSE. I teach across all age groups and abilities - from children doing SATS or common entrance, to those with learning difficulties doing Functional Skills, to one to one GCSE to adult ed. classes.
My approach to tutoring is determined on a student-by-student basis, using the method that best suits each individual learner. For every learner I try to make my lessons fun and interactive, as I believe learning is most effective when the learner is fully engaged.
My teaching method is rather simple, in my opinion knowing the theory for anything is at the base of understanding further concepts hence why the very first focus will be on tightly gripping the fundamental knowledge, I can work with visual learners and my method is based on talking, listening and writing.
GCSE through to A Level, I provide tutoring for maths, chemistry and biology. Within these subjects, there may be topics you do not understand which I am ready to explain and cover with you. I can also help with homework and provide you with tips on how to revise for upcoming exams.
My teaching style will vary considerably, depending upon the topic, the nature of the material, the needs and the abilities of the student(s). It can range from practical, hands-on use of resources, to demonstration, interactive ICT methods or detailed, repeated practice to embed knowledge and skills.
My teaching method is through practice. Mathematics is all about practice. As a bilingual speaker, I understand that every student have a different approach to learning. I aim to help students of all capabilities to reach their full potential by sharing my knowledge in the best possible way.
I believe that communication is key. One must build a strong rapport with their students whilst also ensuring that they go home and practice the material they want to teach their students. Most of the time it is a lack of confidence and practice that hold a student back from achieving their potential. I believe in partnering up with my students to ensure we tackle the subjects as a team.
My teaching method revolves around confidence boosting through quizzes, questioning and student participation. People learn best through interaction, rather than the teacher constantly droning. Through this I will aim to deliver concrete teaching methods that allows the student to question and formulate their own answers.
As a new tutor, it's difficult for me to explicitly define my tutoring methodology. However, I'm a great believer in depth over breadth, especially in a subject such as mathematics, where future concepts often rely heavily on earlier learning, so it's important to get the fundamentals right.
I am able to tutor GCSE and A-level Students in both Maths and Economics. My teaching methods include one to one lessons through video chats, however if the student lives in close proximity I am willing and able to meet for private lessons. As well as this I am open to questions regarding any topic at any time, providing undeniable support.
After introducing a new idea, the concept should then be continually dissected to a point of understanding, then explain how each concept can be applied to various situations. Then the concept should be practiced until learned, it usually takes 3 good revisions of a concept to solidify knowledge.
I have a background in Law that has equipped me with a good analytical mind able to break down complex Math into its simple components. Learning should be fun - I am not afraid to be humourous, though sometimes Math humour is hard to come by.
I’m aiming my tutoring at year 7-9 but wouldn’t mind anything up to year 11 or any younger than stated. I like to keep sessions short as I appreciate that to some maths isn’t the funniest subject but I’d hope that my enthusiasm towards the subject will reflect in the lessons.
I base my teaching around problem solving and practice questions with a focus on repitition in order to master many maths topics
My patient, thorough tuition will solidify a student's understanding of topics through annotated examples and exercises. I believe in adaptable teaching that caters to all levels of Mathematical logic and confidence.
My teaching method focuses specifically on the individual and where they are struggling, finding a simpler solution to getting their head around the problem
My teaching methodology is very simple, I will always ensure that students are able to understand the basic principles for a given topic. To achieve this one should understand the children's ability and their grasping skills. As a teacher I should give more number of examples so that they are able to understand the concept crystal clear.
I approach each topic by going through an example and then giving a similar one to you to complete while showing all your working and going through where you went wrong after you have finished
My teaching strategy incorporates the preferred teaching methods of my students, as well as my favoured and most effective forms of teaching - this includes using memory games - creating a competitive environment. In doing so, the goal is to get the student to strive to be more academically capable than they were yesterday.
I base my class on student class books so that is tailored to a familiar book rather than something new
I would base my lesson on understanding the reason behind every step undertaken to solve a math problem cause I believe that the best way to learn maths is the reason behind doing it.
My teaching method is merging theory with practice. Finding the best approach for every student.
My teaching method is differentiated approach or personalised approach.
I have a simplistic approach to teaching, which I learnt gave me the best results when I was a student at each level of education
My teaching method is based around the student.
I teach aqa gcse and A level maths ethos academic year but have experience a lot of experience teaching the edexcel syllabus too. I pride my teaching on clear instructions and plenty of practice.
I can design worksheets for specific topics that a student may need help with or work through a practice exam with them if the topic is understood but more practice is needed. If the topic is not understood I can run a mini tutorial on the topic explaining the basics and teaching through examples.
My methodology for teaching routes from the experience I gained while working as Learning Mentor for City Year. As I guide students through their topics of struggle, I'll attempt to understand how and why certain areas get them caught up, as to gain their perspective of the subject. Through this method we're able to progress through the topic together, whilst at a pace they can comfortably work at.
It is the strategy and technique of how you approach the paper and the questions but not are you ‘smart’
