I'm an architectural engineering student at Heriot-Watt university - I love maths and have helped younger students with their studies throughout my high school years. I teach using problem-based learning and try to tailor each lesson to individuals' needs.
I am a science graduate with many years' experience of teaching maths to the often terrified at all levels up to GCSE. I teach across all age groups and abilities - from children doing SATS or common entrance, to those with learning difficulties doing Functional Skills, to one to one GCSE to adult ed. classes.
I assess and tailor each lesson based on what my student needs. Firstly, I assess what they need help with and design a teaching plan. I teach topics that they require help with and pick up topics that I feel they need to work on. I teach according to their syllabus with regular assessments. I set homework every week and go over any questions they need help on.
My teaching method revolves around confidence boosting through quizzes, questioning and student participation. People learn best through interaction, rather than the teacher constantly droning. Through this I will aim to deliver concrete teaching methods that allows the student to question and formulate their own answers.
I am at university studying Biology but I have taken maths all the way through school and into university modules as well. I can teach Maths from primary school all the way through to AS-level without issue. Depending on what help you want I can teach topics in order to help you understand or I can work through practice questions with you until you grasp a topic fully.
GCSE Maths & Science/A-Level & IB Chemistry Tutor. I believe it is important to build a friendly and equal relationship with the student and I hope that my experience of the ups and downs of school, and university, can help the students beyond Maths and Science.
I achieved 12 A* at GCSE and looking to help people get a head start during the summer. My teaching methods are very versatile, and I can adapt to the methodology that suits the tutee. I think it is important to lay the groundwork and have a solid understanding of the subject content, before applying this knowledge in exam-style questions.
I believe that communication is key. One must build a strong rapport with their students whilst also ensuring that they go home and practice the material they want to teach their students. Most of the time it is a lack of confidence and practice that hold a student back from achieving their potential. I believe in partnering up with my students to ensure we tackle the subjects as a team.
My methodology for teaching routes from the experience I gained while working as Learning Mentor for City Year. As I guide students through their topics of struggle, I'll attempt to understand how and why certain areas get them caught up, as to gain their perspective of the subject. Through this method we're able to progress through the topic together, whilst at a pace they can comfortably work at.
I customise my teaching based upon my student's needs. While some students like me to go through theory more extensively before jumping into questions, others like to practice exam questions together. I create worksheets and solve the problems my students need help with before each session, and try to hone in as much as I can on their areas of difficulty.
My teaching method is that I ask the student how they think it should be done and try their method then if that works keep with that but if they are having trouble then I will try the way I was taught.
Generally I will have a loose plan for the session, but allow full flexibility to go over whatever the student is struggling with at that time. I believe people learn best when they are in a relaxed environment, so I never put stress on the student.
I have a background in Law that has equipped me with a good analytical mind able to break down complex Math into its simple components. Learning should be fun - I am not afraid to be humourous, though sometimes Math humour is hard to come by.
I’m aiming my tutoring at year 7-9 but wouldn’t mind anything up to year 11 or any younger than stated. I like to keep sessions short as I appreciate that to some maths isn’t the funniest subject but I’d hope that my enthusiasm towards the subject will reflect in the lessons.

My teaching method focuses specifically on the individual and where they are struggling, finding a simpler solution to getting their head around the problem
My teaching methodology is very simple, I will always ensure that students are able to understand the basic principles for a given topic. To achieve this one should understand the children's ability and their grasping skills. As a teacher I should give more number of examples so that they are able to understand the concept crystal clear.
I approach each topic by going through an example and then giving a similar one to you to complete while showing all your working and going through where you went wrong after you have finished
My teaching method is merging theory with practice. Finding the best approach for every student.
My teaching method is differentiated approach or personalised approach.
