My approach to tutoring is determined on a student-by-student basis, using the method that best suits each individual learner. For every learner I try to make my lessons fun and interactive, as I believe learning is most effective when the learner is fully engaged.
My teaching style will vary considerably, depending upon the topic, the nature of the material, the needs and the abilities of the student(s). It can range from practical, hands-on use of resources, to demonstration, interactive ICT methods or detailed, repeated practice to embed knowledge and skills.
My teaching method is through practice. Mathematics is all about practice. As a bilingual speaker, I understand that every student have a different approach to learning. I aim to help students of all capabilities to reach their full potential by sharing my knowledge in the best possible way.
I believe that communication is key. One must build a strong rapport with their students whilst also ensuring that they go home and practice the material they want to teach their students. Most of the time it is a lack of confidence and practice that hold a student back from achieving their potential. I believe in partnering up with my students to ensure we tackle the subjects as a team.
My methodology for teaching routes from the experience I gained while working as Learning Mentor for City Year. As I guide students through their topics of struggle, I'll attempt to understand how and why certain areas get them caught up, as to gain their perspective of the subject. Through this method we're able to progress through the topic together, whilst at a pace they can comfortably work at.
I am able to tutor GCSE and A-level Students in both Maths and Economics. My teaching methods include one to one lessons through video chats, however if the student lives in close proximity I am willing and able to meet for private lessons. As well as this I am open to questions regarding any topic at any time, providing undeniable support.
I can design worksheets for specific topics that a student may need help with or work through a practice exam with them if the topic is understood but more practice is needed. If the topic is not understood I can run a mini tutorial on the topic explaining the basics and teaching through examples.
I'm Jo and am about to return to studying from home myself for a Masters Psychology Conversion Degree. I have a 2:1 Mathematics degree and I'm offering to help anybody studying up to degree level Maths, any age and in whatever capacity you need me to.
I customise my teaching based upon my student's needs. While some students like me to go through theory more extensively before jumping into questions, others like to practice exam questions together. I create worksheets and solve the problems my students need help with before each session, and try to hone in as much as I can on their areas of difficulty.
My teaching is quite unorthodox but rewarding. My teaching is based on focusing on getting students to grasp the concept before getting them to know the answer because it is a small step from understanding the mathematical concepts to getting A-stars in Maths.
Tailored individually to the pupil's needs and based around the specific course they need the tutoring for. Clear, friendly and structured tutoring to bring out the best in you.
My teaching methods are based on pupils levels. I will assess them and focus in areas most work needed plan accordingly. I also run courses from beginners to advance Math pupils. Depending on your needs one to one tuition is also available for all age groups.
My teaching methods are methodical and laid out, as i like to keep things organised and neat. My approach is to try and find a way for you to understand the topic in your own way, as everyone learns differently and we need to work on approaching the most conventional way for you to learn the curriculum.
I have just finished my A-Levels and therefore am very familiar with current A-Level and GCSE material. I employ multiple approaches to ensure I tailor my teaching to each student. Each lesson focusses on a key subject with a recap and a plenary at the end and beginning respectively.
As an educational tutor, I have most recently worked with A-Level and GCSE pupils in mainly maths and Physics but also wider sciences. Previously I have worked with peers when I was at school and University helping them with the subjects that they found difficult as well as with candidates from family and friendship groups as well as websites like this one.
