Sewing has been my passion since childhood, and I'm delighted to be able to share it with motivated students! I like to teach to small groups or individuals as the class can then be tailored to the students' needs. Prior sewing experience is welcome but not strictly required, as we can cover some basics together.
I provide examples of re-purposed items followed by simple exercises to open up your thinking of possibilities for uses of used clothing and textiles before considering your own items in the same way. Alongside this you will be coached on your lifestyle as it is, how you would like it to be and how to develop the attitudes, attributes and approaches needed to move in the direction you most desire.
I base my teaching methods around the people I work with, tailoring the education and enlightenment to individual needs. For some that maybe written instructions, for some verbal instructions, others more practical demonstrations and help. Overall a combination usually suits.
My teaching methodology is simple but funny. You must find your interest in Specific areas in Fashion Design and then you will enjoy yourself in Fashion Design. My favorite area is embroidery, so I can enjoy embroidery all day long. I think this major is not only a skill, but also a kind of life interest, so that your life is no longer boring.
I can give lessons to students at a university in need of tips from a recent graduate who knows the process and what the lecturers are expecting. I can tutor a-level and GCSE students who need help learning the technical knowledge required in exams as well as practical skills to anyone.
My teaching method is largely discussion based but I also like to give students tasks to do.
