Hi , my name is Julien. I am a French native speaker who work and live in Glasgow near the University of Glasgow. After eighth trips in Scotland, I decided to live in Glasgow and teach French to Primary, KS3, IB, GCSE and Adults. Generally, I ask what students want to work and the axes of improvement on which they want to work.
I received an A in my A Level English Language and took English Literature to AS. I have a degree in History and thus my written English is to a high level. I am willing to teach primary and secondary age children as well as those taking Lowers/GCSEs. I begin teaching by discussing with the student/parents which areas need improving upon before forming a course around that.
The way I see it, every student is unique. Everyone has different interests and specialities, but they also have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to education and different subjects. The sooner a tutor can understand what a student is struggling with, the sooner they can offer guidance in a way that helps the student to overcome them.
My teaching method is based on the type of people I am teaching, I can be a slow or fast as the individual/people need me to be. I bring props With me to make my teaching experience more fun.
I tutor english to primary school pupils who have english as a first language or as another language. I encourage positivity in my tutoring sessions and aim to build good rapport with students to make tutoring as fun as possible for the students. I also tend to give out homework at the end of each session.
I am BA hons student with the OU, which allows me to study at home with time to share my passion for learning and teaching - I study Law with a side of criminology along with studying The arts past and present which is a mix of history, religious studies and english.
I am currently a second year English literature and history student at University of Glasgow. I am available to tutor in English and/or history at any level up to Advanced Higher, with the ability to assist in questions related to other humanities subjects (e.g. art, modern studies, politics, RMPS, politics) - although I do not tutor specifically in these subjects.
A mature, friendly and approachable High School student looking to tutor primary and secondary pupils at any level of English as I have excelled in my SQA National 5 and Higher English exams achieving an A on both. I believe that as a tutor I possess great interpersonal skills and have the ability to put people at ease.
I am a recent Honors Economics undergraduate student with experience teaching highschool and university students in essay writing and planning. Subjects I have helped students with before include English Literature, History, Politics, Psychology, Spanish and German.
My teaching method is based on compassion and patience. I tailor every lesson to the student and try and find the best way to teach my student. I like to make lessons more fun and quite like making songs out of the material.
I give lessons to anyone looking to improve their English - from school pupils to foreign speakers. My techniques and methods depend on the lesson but I like to keep lessons very organised with particular goals and aims. Reading may be required before lessons for pupils.
I believe that every student has the potential to thrive in school. In order for this to happen, the methods and techniques that are used need to be altered for each student. Therefore, I would adapt my teaching styles to accommodate the learner.
I am comfortable teaching all levels of school students and college students up to HND level. I have experience with students with learning difficulties. I am a very friendly and patient person and happy to go over things in various ways until my student is confident and happy with the subject matter.
I try to tailor my teaching methods towards each individual student, but one of the key characteristics I believe to be extremely important within tutoring is patience, as I realise that everybody has different learning styles and they learn at different paces.
My name is Callum Hardwick and I am currently in my third year of studying English and Scottish Literature at the University of Glasgow. I am comfortable teaching from primary-secondary levels and I aspire to attain a TEFL + CELTA qualification subsequent to completing my degree. I am a grade-A student, and while I would not say I am particularly intelligent, I definitely know HOW to study.
I offer students a flexible, adaptive teaching style that adheres to iterative methods. Repetition, questions, and solution-finding are the keys to teaching students the skills required to explore their education in an attentive and guided but self-motivated practice.
I am recent graduate from the University of Glasgow where I gained a First Class (Hons) degree in English Literature. I am happy to proofread essays and give one to one tutoring from primary up to first year university level.
My teaching method is to first establish what best suits the student, then establish a good work plan. I can teach students tips and tricks on how to easily pass Higher English with a good grade.
I am in my Senior Honours year having studied English Literature at the University of Glasgow since 2013. I have an excellent knowledge of English as a subject and how it is studied in a Scottish secondary school, having both qualifications in Higher and Advanced Higher English.
First and foremost, I focus on the students needs; why they have come to me for private tuition, what their goals are, and what they hope to achieve in the short and long term. Based upon their needs, I categorise my lessons into easy amounts and provide relevant homework to be completed each week. I am highly approachable, and encourage questions and discussion about the topic in hand.
I am offering lessons in English Literature, Literacy and Religious Studies to students aged up to S5. I tailor my sessions to the learning style of the student and am committed to making sure that each session is engaging as well as helpful.
For me, teaching is far less about talking and telling as it is about listening and observing. The methodology that might suit one student perfectly could be useless for another student. I pride myself on my adaptability, getting to know each student personally and presenting the information in a way that works for them.
My teaching methods involve lots of interactive activities that make learning fun and memorable, especially for young learners. Particularly for Maths it is a great way to learn times tables by singing a song doing actions which helps the memory.
I approach each topic uniquely for each student catering the lesson to their specific needs as I am aware each child learns differently. I do not finish with a topic until a student is confident that that can succeed in that area.
My teaching method is mainly discussion based, attempting to help the student come to their own conclusions to better develop their understanding of a text. My approach is to breakdown text top down, starting with larger themes and symbols that cover the whole text, to character analysis, to scene breakdowns, to language deconstruction.
Teaching will be based on how to improve ability as well as techniques to maximise exam performance. As a teacher, I am patient but also able to push students to achieve the best results.
My teaching method is based around that of my student. I will understand both they're strengths and weaknesses and work through weaknesses in order for them to gain a fuller understanding. Depending on what the student needs, I will provide a full lesson package that is aimed directly to the lesson requirement.
Private tuition for children (Summer of 2015) Activity: I gave private tuition in English, Maths and Valencian to children whose ages ranged from 12 to 15. I was in charge of teaching children and preparing them for their retaking tests.
For school assignments or simply for fun, learn the different tried and tested methods of creative writing to find what works for you. As a writer myself, I'll help guide you to write your masterpiece and start you on your way.
I am an English Literature graduate offering English lessons from 1st to 6th year secondary school pupils. In terms of what to expect from lessons, my main priority is to pitch whatever I teach at the student's level. I'll never push beyond a student's capabilities and will always ensure that they completely understand a topic before moving onto the next lesson.
