Hi , my name is Julien. I am a French native speaker who work and live in Glasgow near the University of Glasgow. After eighth trips in Scotland, I decided to live in Glasgow and teach French to Primary, KS3, IB, GCSE and Adults. Generally, I ask what students want to work and the axes of improvement on which they want to work.
I base each class on a skill rather than a topic, less ‘critical essay’ and more ‘the difference between analysis and evaluation’ - I believe this is more useful and not as vague.
The way I see it, every student is unique. Everyone has different interests and specialities, but they also have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to education and different subjects. The sooner a tutor can understand what a student is struggling with, the sooner they can offer guidance in a way that helps the student to overcome them.
I tutor english to primary school pupils who have english as a first language or as another language. I encourage positivity in my tutoring sessions and aim to build good rapport with students to make tutoring as fun as possible for the students. I also tend to give out homework at the end of each session.
I am BA hons student with the OU, which allows me to study at home with time to share my passion for learning and teaching - I study Law with a side of criminology along with studying The arts past and present which is a mix of history, religious studies and english.
I have an approach which basically is to find instances which can relate to a particular topic and teach, I also use creative methods like mind maps and flow charts which is easier to remember. it is very important to know that every person has different interests and methods which helps hem remember and relate, finding this route which impresses the person is the best way to teach.
I usually start off by introducing the main topics and areas to be covered and ask my students to list out what they think their personal strengths and weaknesses are at the moment. Through the progression of the classes (which will be tailored based on these strenghts and weaknesses) I will monitor the performance and ensure that improvements are made and more confidence gained.
I give lessons to anyone looking to improve their English - from school pupils to foreign speakers. My techniques and methods depend on the lesson but I like to keep lessons very organised with particular goals and aims. Reading may be required before lessons for pupils.
Helping English students up to Scottish National 5 level. I will provide corrections for yours essays, which alongside feedback, help to build your knowledge of the subject and your understanding of language use. I will further help with exam prep.
My teaching methodology is not one, but several. I adjust the method in accordance to the needs of the learner. However, recently on my last studies I have used LSP (Lego Serious Play) method for engaging adults in learning. My lesson structure is not mine but ours. I try to build the lesson with my tutee based on my recommendations as an expert and I also focus on needs and interests of my tutee.
As composition is key to success in so many different areas, I approach my tutoring with a strong inclination to incorporate the fundamentals of composition into my lessons.
My teaching method is mainly discussion based, attempting to help the student come to their own conclusions to better develop their understanding of a text. My approach is to breakdown text top down, starting with larger themes and symbols that cover the whole text, to character analysis, to scene breakdowns, to language deconstruction.
Teaching will be based on how to improve ability as well as techniques to maximise exam performance. As a teacher, I am patient but also able to push students to achieve the best results.
Private tuition for children (Summer of 2015) Activity: I gave private tuition in English, Maths and Valencian to children whose ages ranged from 12 to 15. I was in charge of teaching children and preparing them for their retaking tests.
My pedagogy is based on critical inquiry: in other words, I encourage my students to ask questions. I intend to balance helping students develop their learning capacity with using the strengths students already have to help them succeed.
My teaching methods are more involved, if you dislike English or have a hard time with it then I will try to crate a connection with it to something that you enjoy. Individually and in a group. The first lesson I will ask you when your next English exam is and give you one of the National issued past papers to complete to see what level you are at, at the moment.
I am an English Literature graduate offering English lessons from 1st to 6th year secondary school pupils. In terms of what to expect from lessons, my main priority is to pitch whatever I teach at the student's level. I'll never push beyond a student's capabilities and will always ensure that they completely understand a topic before moving onto the next lesson.
I am a tutor who specialises in Chemistry and English. I have received top grades in both subjects whilst in school and aim to further educate students who are struggling in these subjects. In order to allow enhancement of their grades, I need students to give their full potential as learning is a team effort.
My teaching methodology is catering my lesson to meet the needs of all learners in my class bearing in mind that there are different learners and they all will not be able to learn in the same way, which is the reason for that
My methodology is very simple i focus on prime topics and helps the student to understand each and everything clearly
A mature, friendly and approachable High School student looking to tutor primary and secondary pupils at any level of English as I have excelled in my SQA National 5 and Higher English exams achieving an A on both. I believe that as a tutor I possess great interpersonal skills and have the ability to put people at ease.
I believe that every student has the potential to thrive in school. In order for this to happen, the methods and techniques that are used need to be altered for each student. Therefore, I would adapt my teaching styles to accommodate the learner.
I am a friendly undergraduate student from london whose majoring in English Literature. Providing supportive and encouraging lessons to ages 11-18 for Standard Grade examinations, Highers as well as class support. My teaching method is based on careful reading of texts in order to pick out key points. I encourage group reading/reading out loud as a way of absorbing information better. As for analysing texts, I believe engaging in tasks such as building mind maps and character studies is integral to doing this. Finally I believe that practising as many example questions as possible is the key to exam success.
My teaching methods involve lots of interactive activities that make learning fun and memorable, especially for young learners. Particularly for Maths it is a great way to learn times tables by singing a song doing actions which helps the memory.
I find that when you enjoy and are interested in a subject, overall results are far higher, so I would approach lessons with a fun laid back attitude and taper my teaching style to each student, taking into account their individual needs, strengths and work pace.
