I generally teach students in middle school or at GSCE/A level. I allow my students to find their own way of attempting a particular problem. I feel that it is best for students to not be tied down with certain methods if they do not work for them and that fear of punishment is no way to motivate students to do their best work.
With six years experience researching and studying Linguistics I have worked with various universities in Kent and London on paper, projects, and conferences. I hold a masters degree in Language and Cultural Diversity from King's College London where I graduated with a Merit.
I will aim to aid learning by using a mixture of memory techniques, games, visual learning as well as mini quizzes and conversation (and lots of positive reinforcement).
I feel the most efficient way to teach is by listening and understanding the individual needs of my pupils. I take care in developing and adapting my lessons to ensure my pupils are confident and comfortable in what they are learning. I am friendly and have a genuine passion for my role as a teacher.
I believe teaching English isn’t about perfecting your grammar, nor perfecting your writing. It’s about bridging gaps and breaking barriers. “A professional writer is an amateur who didn’t quit”, in the words of Richard Bach. If you have the drive, passion and commitment you will succeed.
My teaching method is i teach a topic, then near the end i will give a test to see how much they have learnt. I also make them learn 5 words from the dictionary every week, i hold regular spelling tests, comprehensions etc....
My teaching method is simple but effective, I am to firstly build a bond with the child, therefore expanding the child’s subconscious attention to new information. I believe the best way to do this is through FUN!. Unlike more traditional tutors, my lessons are not like classroom situations and invite the children to think and ask questions.
Self-learning-I try to teach a student to independently use research methods to educate themselves Gamification-the students like learning through a medium of game Internet-there are many educationally informative websites to use to teach students Free Online Learning Tools-I use free online quality educational websites to teach my students
My teaching method is best described as a flexible and friendly one. Over the five years I have been tutoring and my year in the classroom, I have developed and employed number of techniques that have helped my students achieve. Every learner is different.. what works for one person may not work for another.
My teaching method is directly inspired by my own teachers and mentors who imparted so much to me along my educational path. I believe in an honest and straightforward approach, one that aims always to provide a model for my students while also helping them to see in me a mentor who himself still has much to learn.
My teaching methodology is to teach in small steps to ensure nothing is missed. Working 1:1 or in small groups with children is much more beneficial as you can quickly see where they need help or where they've gone wrong. It also boosts confidence.
I teach students all the way up to GCSE level English. Of course, at each age group, lesson structures vary. Additionally, I am a strong believer in varying learning styles and therefore begin with an introductory lesson where I learn more about the student in question before beginning to structure the lesson plan.
In tutoring online, I provide detailed and constructive feedback, whilst also using models to emphasise techniques for writing in appropriate genre and register. I turn work around quickly to ensure support is timely as well as robust. My approach is honest, friendly and personalised.
Relevant education. I have to meet and understand your child before finding out which approach to learning is most suited. It will be a very proactive class, with children relating what they read with their own experiences.
I understand that every child works at a different pace and is engaged in a variety of ways. It is my job to capture the child's imagination and harness the learning so that excellent progress is achieved as well as a sense of well being and success for the child.
My teaching method consists on building blocks. Once I understand what the child already knows I build on that and help them to learn more about the chosen subject.
I am articulate, approachable, and energetic. I love to have fun communicating, and think work should be an enjoyable experience. I like to understand my students' requirements, and will treat each student with respect and care, adapting my lessons if I feel a student would benefit.
My teaching method is person-centred and based around what is best for each individual student. I have no problem changing my methodology to suit each student's preferred learning method, and like to use a variety of materials and methods to enhance the learning experience.
I focus on the following topic areas: writing, reading and speaking. My initial aim is to teach you the grammar and the vocabulary. I tailor my lessons to target your weak spots and reinforce where you are already skilled at. I also teach English literature, covering the skills on how to analyse a piece of written work.
Enthusiasm is key! If we both have the enthusiasm and eagerness to learn, nothing can stop us. I like to enjoy texts and really gain as much depth as possible, looking at all aspects of a text. Learning about words may sound boring, but can be such fun finding out their origins, synonyms, antonyms etc.
I always personalise my approach to teaching based upon the needs of the child or children that I work with. I have a knack for being creative. The first thing I set out to achieve is a positive learning environment.
My teaching method is focused largely on collaborative, interactive and engaging learning. I believe this is extremely effective across all phases of education. I start each tutoring session with a focus and an outcome for the learning, personalizing it specifically to the individual learner.
My teaching method is very much about the students pace however very interactive and practical. I strongly believe that the best way to learn it 'to do' and my teaching style involves a lot of brainstorming together and making something interesting out of it individually.
The most important thing about any lesson is for the student to feel that they have learned something new or honed one of their existing skills. I therefore begin by asking the student to tell me something that they find difficult or wish to work on. Then I will find specific examples, based on the identified area, and we can work through problems and questions together.
I teach through discussion and practice. My first priority is understanding the needs of my student and so I ask them to explain to me what their challenges are in their studies and what methods they find most effective.
My teaching method is based upon completion of several worksheets that focus on grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and content. These can be tailored to the students level. The completed worksheets then give me an idea of areas that need working on. In the next stage of my lessons I will work through these areas causing trouble to best suit the individual needs of my students.
I base my teaching style on learning being engaging, fun and relevant as I believe that is the best way for anyone to process and most importantly retain information they need for a class.
My teaching methods vary depending on each students needs. I can provide exam coaching, grammar tuition, improvement lessons in reading and writing, and lessons for those wishing to improve the spoken English. My teaching is individually tailored to each student.
I try to tailor my teaching methods towards each individual student, but one of the key characteristics I believe to be extremely important within tutoring is patience, as I realise that everybody has different learning styles and they learn at different paces.
I approach the topic with conversational questions for practical exercises about the topic. I like to encourage my students to think of how they can use the topic in their daily conversations, so I provide examples and rollplays related to it.
