Please accept this information and my CV for your reference with regards to my teaching experience for a Primary or Secondary tutoring post at Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 – UK National Curriculum - PYP & MYP- CPP. I would also consider an applicable Secondary tutoring role relevant to my teaching experience – English and Humanities up to Key Stage 3.
I am a 30 year old male and a qualified teacher with over six years of diverse teaching experience. Having studied languages myself in an academic setting, I understand the individual needs of learning and the immense pleasure that can be drawn from studying languages. My lessons begin with a diagnostic approach and I then prepare classes and course for individual students or small groups.
The focus of my tuition sessions is always on the student: What are their needs and goals? What is the best way for us to achieve them? How can I craft an experience that they will enjoy whilst giving us the outcomes that we want? I believe that all teaching is a collaboration between both student and teacher.
I tutor online. I will offer to tutor to primary school students, KS3, KS4 and KS5 students. I am a big believer in embracing different learning styles. I am knowledgeable about the best ways to study for those that prefer auditory learning vs visual learning. I like to make the syllabus fun by engaging with it in a creative way.
I like to start by getting to the grips with the text and making sure we know exactly what's happening - my Cambridge degree taught me how important the basics are, and often these are overlooked! I am also a freelance theatre director, so I specialise particular in Drama, and I have a great love for Shakespeare and his contemporaries.
My teaching is very relaxed and I approach each lesson and student uniquely to suit the learner/s ability and level of education.
My teaching method is very much led by the individual and I embraced the personalised learning approach. I fully believe that in order to enable the best state for learning that you need to know the individual well. I plan my lessons based on personal interest and apply a practical approach to learning wherever possible.
My methodology for teaching is, taking diagnostic tests, then building rapport and then checking concepts through questions and further tests.
My teaching method is positive reinforcement on self-learning, I assist via prompting questions and encouraging independent learning by giving the tools and then catering the approach to the student, some students will very independently jump to an answer when given the materials, others need to be shown and others know answers but struggle with their methodology.
I can teach all areas of English: English language and literature up to A-Level. For English langauge I like to focus on the four main core skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing and for literature I take the same approach as I was taught at the Univesity of Cambridge: close anaysis of text and contextual considerations to come towards main ideas elicited in the text.
My teaching method is to first have the students work through their set texts until they understand them and have developed an opinion. This involves a lot of class discussion of the text, as well as contextual research in order to broaden their understanding and engagement of the text.
I consider it of paramount importance to avoid being didactic in my lessons. The key to learning, in my experience, has always been to make it as interactive and independent thinking as possible.
I am very adaptable and aim to personalise my teaching in order to suit individual students and their academic needs. Every single student takes in information and understands it differently, and I aim to help students access their subject in a way that appeals to them.
I believe children to to be exposed to education that is meaningful to them and not just pen, paper and books. Children need to see how their education is relevant in their everyday lives. I strive to make my lessons fun and engaging, as well as challenging.
I have a BA (Hons) Drama and Literature, PGCE (Secondary English Teacher) - teaching KS3/4/5 (age 11 to 19). Taught in Comprenhensive mixed schools and currently teaching in Private School - English Language and English Literature - Head of English Department Department.
I structure my lessons based on what the student feels they need the most help with. For example, I will read out poetry analysis tools and words and explain them and then get the student to reiterate what I have said step by step until we are both sure they understand it.
My teaching style is largely based making sure the student is happy and confident whilst learning. I try to make my lessons fun and engaging whilst also offering practical skills and 'insider knowledge' from having completed many English-based qualifications myself.
My teaching method is to base each lesson according to the GCSEs syllabuses and National Curriculum's expectations. Taught KS2, KS3 and KS4 English, Geography, History, Life Skills, PSHE, R.E. Ensured students at KS2 (year 6) were working at ATS or GDS level for Reading, Maths,Science and Writing which involved long term planning of lessons.
Since I specialise in coaching, I’m not only looking to help improve in a specific subject, but I’m also trying to help develop excellent learning and revision habits. This means that my tutoring session will focus on the personal growth of the tutee as well the topic at hand. I will provide a fun working environment, accompanied by a broad set of tips for the upcoming GCSE exams.
Each lesson will be taught differently according to the student i am working with. I believe learning should be fun and interactive to help the student to feel relaxed and so has a enjoyable learning experience and really take a lot away from the session.
For school students with reading, comprehension or articulation difficulties, I read through the texts or parts of the text with them out loud, using my own experience of the text to bring out the way the writer uses their language.
I believe learning should be fun and informative! I love sharing a good historical anecdote and using a variety of techniques to help learn and memorize. This is useful for all levels, but especially if you find studying just by reading chunks of text hard (like me). I'm not a fan of exams or tests, but short regular quizzes help determine how well you are learning something, so expect those.
The methods I use for teaching focus on ensuring total success for everyone involved. I look to see the differences in my students as a positive. We all learn differently and it is something we should all embrace! I can give my lessons to any one from Primary level, up to an adult to assist with rhetoric, speech writing and resume/CV building.
Continuing the ethos I learned at the student success centre I taught at in New York, my goal is not just to prescribe to give clients the tools to become better writers. All lesson plans start and end with the clients desire.
I base my classes on the syllabus the student is studying so AQA, Edexcel etc. We practice past papers as well as look at techniques to help them ace their exams. I have a good understanding of books on the syllabus so we select quotations to learn for unseen exams.
The class method is to use alternative sources of study and match those with students needs. Focus on the areas of memory and exam technique, as these are the main points that students need help with. My experience is what defines me.
My teaching style is friendly, structured and supportive: I tailor lessons to students' academic needs. We will go through each topic by theme, character and language analysis, geared towards the assessment style (essay/exam).
I like to engage the student and build a positive relationship with them. Following the set curriculum and preparing for exams is very important, as is writing essays for practice or for coursework. So is aiming to genuinely understand the subject matter and to engage in critical thought and explore around the subject. On top of this having fun while doing so is vital.
In each lesson, I like my students to go on an adventure through their task. Whether it's through exam prep or poetry creation, students will explore and hone their skills and talents based on the fundamental framework offered through their regular school work. Like a good story, a lesson has a beginning, middle, and end, with twists and turns throughout.
