I believe building confidence is absolutely key and thus I focus on making sure the student fully understands the covered concepts. I have worked with many students and have learnt that there is no set method for teaching, but rather finding a method tailored to the student.
Depending on the difficulty of a topic, I divide the workload of each part of the topic into appropriate timelines and benchmark the progress of my students at certain points in those timelines with well structured assessments for students to gain a self feedback of their performance and recognise which practises have positive or negative results on their performance.
Hello, I am a University Student studying Chemical Engineering. I hope that I can share my experiences in Maths and Sciences, from Primary to A-Levels. Given my experiences, I will teach you unique methods which you will love and be passionate about.
I usually teach on a one to one basis and personalise my lesson content according to the needs of my students. My classes include handouts and worksheets to encourage them to practice at home and provide them with notes to revise from.
My way of teaching something to someone is to firstly know the child capabilities to learn something. Then work on basics for the subject. Mainly start concentrating on their weak points. Regular exercises, tests, fun stuff to make the subject and student interaction more interesting.
I always try to make the lessons very dynamic. I understand that it is hard to learn the abstract terms in physics and maths, so I always try to make it as practical as possible so that the student understands rather than memorizes.
My teaching method in maths is based on making the student understand the significance and motivation behind the topic, clearing the concepts, how the formula is derived (which allows the student not to forget the formula/theorem). Most importantly, I teach them how to identify their own mistakes in their answer without seeking the help of others.
I use a mixture of “chalk and talk” along with worked examples and practical exercises tailored to the student’s needs
