I am an experienced teacher and I tailor lessons to suit individual needs. I am happy to teach pupils from the age of five upwards, and any ability level from complete beginner to experienced professionals looking to learn specific skills.
I'm a drum kit, percussion and tuned percussion teacher with 25 years experience in both private and state education. I have also worked as a peripatetic teacher for the local authority. I'm use to a wide age range (5-65 years), varied abilities and am adaptable to personal areas of study and styles of music.
My teaching is based on what the student wants to learn and be able to accomplish, whether that be working through grades or learning drum grooves to songs/tunes. However, every student will learn the importance of a good, strong and firm foundation to playing drums, and I will teach them that.
Hi. I have over 20 years teaching experience playing and teaching drum kit and orchestral percussion instruments. I have played with professional orchestras and some of the world's leading brass bands. Over 200 exams have been taken by my students and I haven't had anyone fail.
I aim for the student's improvement through a structured trajectory or instruction, adapting myself to his or her specific needs. I give space to dialogue, understanding and creativity in my method of teaching.
I firmly believe in the importance of music lessons being enjoyable and rewarding, so I encourage the students to learn to play the songs and music they love. It is also important to me that they learn a bit about music theory, how to read music, and how to play the instrument with a good technique.
Before Teaching a client, I must understand the client; for the client to understand my work is 'working' for ones self.
I am a percussionist with 12 years experience in performing, and 4 years experience in teaching percussion and drum kit. Drums and Percussion are the most theatrical of instruments, and I have enjoyed enthusing students in this art. I am also qualified in theory and music, having graduated with a double first from the University of Cambridge.
I studied the Bachelor's in percussion in the Superior School of Music. I give fun classes for children and adults who want to learn to play the songs they like best or want to prepare their audition to enter a conservatory. I am very patient with beginners and young children.
my teaching is on instrumental, base on theory, i approach every student one on one format, firstly ill explain about the instrument to beginners and and then go to practicing pads with the basic strokes and fills with the count
The methodology is based on the use of the main books and studies of technique, phrasing and coordination of the great American teachers such as C.Wilcoxon, G.Chaffee, T.Reed, A.Dawson, etc ... Generally alongside the study of the battery that of the classical drum technique and the applied rhythmic solfeggio, I try to propose to the student a study method suited to his needs and aspirations.
I base my lessons on personal growth and FUN! While it does take the basics to learn and grow, I believe music should ultimately be fun. So while exercises will be a part of the lessons we will also take time to learn songs you want to learn so I can help break down songs so you learn thing you want to learn.

Music is a beautiful combination of the two hemispheres of the brain (I know this isn't real science but take it for metaphor's sake). There is math and perfection of rhythms and harmonies within music, but these patterns mean very little without the creativity of the mind inspiring it to move in certain ways.
My approach to teaching an instrument is quite structured, I always try to keep up with the student and help him with whatever difficulties he has, I will always try to encourage him and motivate him to study and I will make sure that he is completely at ease within the classroom environment.

I start of with the basics, such as stick holding, simple rock beats (for drumkit), getting familiar with the instrument and reading music. Once the student is comfortable, I progress into more complicated drumming such as different time signatures or swing patterns for drumkit, or learning pieces for mallet percussion or timpani.
I like to start easy with the basics, e.g. how to hold a mallet, how to make a full stroke, where to hit the bar. then I can get into how to read music and basic two mallet exercises. Than I can get into more advanced stuff, like playing solos, and four mallet technique.
I base my methodology on instruction that I was given from a variety of instructors from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee as well as the Conservatory of Music. The content of my lessons contain technique, music theory, snare drum instruction and reading music transcriptions, and coordination exercises.
I like to teach in a way that people are interested in the subject and look for their own way of understanding it, I like to teach what is of most interest to the person, if it is in my knowledge and if I do not try to give a guide or idea, I do not have a fixed structure or method, I try to give different approaches to the issues
