I am a student (A level) and I give lessons to secondary school GCSE students.
Brief outline of a lesson: We'd focus on the texts that you are focusing on in school, to make sure you have a good understanding outside of the classroom. A warm up task which would vary lesson to lesson. We'd do reading of the text, contextual reading and then a writing task whether that be answering questions or writing paragraphs.
As a tutor I want sessions to be fun and enjoyable but beneficial to the student, enhancing their knowledge of their texts and what is needed of them in an exam.
I am a student who has always had a passion for English and loves to help others. I achieved two high B's in my English GCSE's and I am now currently studying English as one of my A level choices.
I believe that skills that are learnt in English are skills which become transferable for your future and would love to use my transferable skills which i have obtained to help students who are in the same position I was in when I had to take my exams. I also had a tutor, I wasn't failing but I felt as if I could be doing more work at home as well as the revision that we need to do as students.
