About Sophie
I have spent 4 weeks working at a summer camp in the Czech Republic giving English lessons to students ranging from 4 to 16 years old. I have also spent 4 weeks in Madrid, Spain as an Au Pair which involved teaching English to two girls aged 6 and 7.
I am new to tutoring one-on-one and to compensate for this I offer competitive rates. I am advanced in all areas of Mathematics and have a high level of Spanish so you can rely on me to give you a reliable lesson.

I am a 23 year old female who graduated last year with a 1st class degree in Maths, Statistics and Actuarial Sciences, I also have an advanced/B2 level of Spanish. I am very patient and have a calm manner and I am willing to take on students of any level. I give lessons to primary and secondary students who need help to begin to learn or advance in Maths and/or Spanish.
In my teaching I like to take a different approach to schools/colleges, as my students already have that learning experience day to day. A typical hour-length lesson of mine will be broken down into:
- 20 minutes of interactive explanation and demonstration (less 'spoon feeding' and more making sure the student understands)
- 20 minutes of working together to solve problems (in school you are usually left to work on your own)
- 20 minutes of game style practice to end the lesson (having fun with it can really help boast motivation and encourage learning)
