About Ethan
I'm Ethan, a graduate from the LSE with a passion for languages! From the age of 3, I've been learning French from my grandfather, and ever since, languages have been my obsession. The ability to communicate with people from other cultures is an invaluable skill, and one which I implore as many people to learn as they can! Therefore, I would like to show you the wonders of learning a new language, and how it is not as daunting of a task as it seems. I hope I can help you!

My approach to tutoring is personalised, practical and confidence-focused. I adapt every lesson to the student’s current level, learning style and objectives, whether they are preparing for an examination, improving their conversational ability or learning a language for work, travel or personal development.
I use a communicative teaching approach, encouraging students to speak as much as possible while also developing their grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, reading and writing skills. Lessons are structured around clear objectives, but I remain flexible so that I can spend more time on the areas each student finds most difficult. I use a mixture of conversation practice, targeted grammar exercises, role-play, comprehension activities and real-life materials. I provide clear, constructive feedback and explain mistakes in a supportive way so that students can improve while building their confidence.
A typical lesson lasts 50 to 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate. During the first lesson, I assess the student’s current level, discuss their objectives and identify the areas in which they need the most support. I then create a personalised learning plan and regularly review their progress. I can also provide exercises and resources for independent practice between lessons.
I am a languages graduate from the London School of Economics and speak English, French and Spanish to a native level. I also have several years of experience working with international children and teenagers at Stafford House, where I supported students from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This experience taught me how to communicate clearly, adapt my approach to different learners and create a positive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment.
I teach French and Spanish from KS3 level through GCSE, A-level and beyond. I also teach adults of all abilities, including complete beginners. In addition, I offer English lessons to native French and Spanish speakers at any level, from beginner to advanced.
Lessons are available online, as well as in person in London. Every lesson is tailored to the individual student, their goals and their preferred way of learning.
